Meditation- Best Way To Relax Your Mind And Body

We give almost all of our time to family, friends and to our dears, but do we give time for our mind?, In most of the cases- "No, we don't." We need to give some time to relax our mind. Meditation is the most effective way to do so. It gives us control over body.

What is Meditation?

Do I need any equipment?

No, you can do meditation without any equipment. What you need is just a calm place, where you can concentrate.

I'm so sleepy. Do I need to wake up before sun?

No, there is no fixed time for meditation. But in the morning, everything is so calm which is the best environment for meditation. You can meditate in anytime- Noon, Afternoon, Evening or Night. Whenever you do, you just have to meditate at the same time everyday.

How much time do I need?

How long you choose to meditate depends on your preferences, life circumstances, and time available. It may be 2 minutes or 5 minutes or 10 minutes or more.

How to meditate?

Step 1: Find a calm place.

Step 2: Sit comfortably. You may sit in a chair with your feet on the floor or sit on the floor loosely cross-legged.

Step 3: Focus on your breath. Give attention to your body parts during each inhale & exhale. How your the size of your belly increasing and decreasing? Do you feel your breath in the nose? Do this for a while.

Step 4: Now focus on your body sensation. Try to feel the connection between your feet and floor. Do you feel feel your hand on your thigh?

Don't worry if your mind gets distracted. It is usual. Just try to keep your attention here.

Step 5-Body scan: Feel your every part of body. Start with your eyes. How does it feel? Then slowly move your attention to nose, mouth, cheek, throat, neck, shoulder, chest, arm, finger, stomach, knee, foot & toe. Again do it, this time from lower body to upper body.

Step 6: Now slowly move your attention back to your environment.

This is it! You successfully meditated.

What is the benefit of meditation?

Meditating daily will benefit you a lot.

  • Meditation reduces stress. This is one of the most common reasons people try meditation.

  • It controls anxiety .

  • It increases your attention to your works.

  • Meditation promotes emotional health.

  • It improves decision making skills.

  • Meditation improve key components of mood,
    including happiness, and irritability.

Therefore you can get more control over your mind and so body. You may feel these benefits at the first one or two days. But if you meditate properly daily, you will see how you are improving.
