Pudimos realizar una hermosa libreta bajo la tutoría de la maestra quien tiene más de 20 años realizando este proceso.
Hello friends of Hive, I am happy to share with you an experience we had recently in the fine arts community. The teacher @noracano taught a handmade bookbinding workshop.
We were able to make a beautiful notebook under the tutelage of the teacher who has more than 20 years doing this process.
Es muy interesante poder involucrarme con esta parte de la creación artística, me genera una gran felicidad percibir la textura de los diversos materiales con los que elaboramos este trabajo. Poder ver también las infinitas posibilidades creativas que hay a la hora de seleccionar materiales, colores y texturas.
Es un proceso bastante largo, fueron varios días de taller, primero cortamos las hojas, separamos y los cuadernillos, es necesario el prensado de los cuadernillos para poder abrir los agujeros que luego nos ayudarán a coser la libreta.
It is very interesting to be able to get involved with this part of artistic creation, it makes me very happy to perceive the texture of the different materials with which we elaborate this work. To be able to see also the infinite creative possibilities that exist when selecting materials, colors and textures.
It is quite a long process, it took several days of workshop, first we cut the sheets, separated and the booklets, it is necessary to press the booklets to open the holes that will later help us to sew the notebook.
Hay dos formas de coser nuestra libreta, la tradicional y la francesa, está última forma fue la que más me agradó, siento que le da más firmeza al encuadernado por ser entrecruzada la costura.
Luego prensamos de nuevo y agregamos cuatro capas de pega, mientras vamos trabajando en la guarda de nuestra libreta, ésta fue una parte complicada para mí porque debía cortar con precisión el diseño, de hecho llegué a repetir este proceso.
There are two ways to sew our notebook, the traditional way and the French way, this last way was the one I liked the most, I feel it gives more firmness to the binding because the stitching is crisscrossed.
Then we press again and add four layers of glue, while we are working on the cover of our notebook, this was a complicated part for me because I had to cut precisely the design, in fact I had to repeat this process.
Ahora debía unir la guarda a mi a los cuadernillos ya firmes y ceos, nuevamente colocamos pega y fijamos con tela para mayor seguridad cuando seque.
Para la portada necesitamos cartón en un kilo de grosor, debemos medirla y luego elegir nuestro diseño.
Now I had to attach the guard to my to the booklets already firm and sewn, again we put glue and fix with fabric for safety when it dries.
For the cover we need cardboard in a kilo of thickness, we must measure it and then choose our design.
Sinceramente quedé enamorada de este proceso y con ganas de hacer mis propias libretas, la maestra Nora los comenta que este mismo proceso lo podemos realizar en distintas escalas y eso me emociona bastante.
Una de las cosas que también me alegra muchísimo es que se seguirán generando actividades como está en la comunidad de Bellas Artes y siempre podemos materializar lo que platicamos en comunidad, desde el principio este ha sido un espacio de retroalimentación para crecer y seguirá siendo así, cada vez desbloqueado nuevas posibilidades.

One of the things that also makes me very happy is that activities like this will continue to be generated in the Bellas Artes community and we can always materialize what we talk about in community, from the beginning this has been a space for feedback to grow and will continue to be so, each time unlocking new possibilities.
