I still get annoyed sometimes in my life because, of course, it's inevitable that bumps come along. But it's okay, I'm still happy every day. I achieved this by redefining what success means to me and what brings me happiness.
Anyway, how many times have we chased the idea of happiness in the wrong place?
You're right about what you said, but many people aren't aware of that because their minds are already set on what they believe can bring them happiness, only to realize too late that it's not the case.
But how many wealthy, successful people move the goalpost just a little bit farther once they reach it and think to themselves I'll be happy when...
You're also right that many don't stop even when they reach their goal, what they do is set new goals, so the story of chasing happiness just continues.
BTW, I like your writing style. By that, I mean the way you share your values with others.
I agree. I think humans can never be contented. We can see that from the rich, where there is always a new technology/car/something that they need to have; or a better year in sales for the company. But it is as you said, it's how we tackle these setbacks/roadblocks/challenges that matter. If what one is doing isn't giving them joy, then maybe they need to find something else to do.
As for the computer, if you're not tech savvy enough, I would suggest having it checked first before buying anything. I think as long as the CPU isn't the bottleneck, then you can just upgrade the different parts. You'll never know, it might just be a dusty PC problem.
I wouldn't say we can never be contented my friend. I think it's a choice we can all make. I think some people can never be contented, that's true, but they could if they wanted to. The fact that we are talking about it tells me we are able to see the problem, step back and decide to make the best of the life we are living. That's already a HUGE step in the right direction.
The computer is getting a 2000 MB/S solid state drive. This should fix the write issue for video and audio recording. It will probably get replaced soon too as we are constantly rendering HD video.
I'm quite happy already ;) The only thing that annoy me are certain people, but I manage to avoid them. Fortunatelly, I live in a place with abundance of great folks, so I have options :)
That's awesome! yeah, and we're human. It's OK to get annoyed once in a while. It happened to me yesterday. I just think it's important not to get lost in being annoyed or frustrated during our life journey. That's why I wrote this post. As a reminder of how amazing life is and I should celebrate every win and be happy throughout the process.
The property was designed and built by Nile Niami as a speculative construction project. It took more than 10 years to build and was originally retailing for $500,000,000. It was eventually sold for much less.
Good words of encouragement actually. My thing was actually internet, and teaching. I did excel a lot on teaching even if I didn't earn much. Maybe someday if I'm blessed and opportuned to, I'll like to own a teaching institution for high school students.
It's annoying when the technology plays up. I hope you could still get the job done.
I'm pretty happy with my life. I'm financially secure, but don't feel the need for a bigger house or a fancy car. Life is short and we have to enjoy every moment rather than continually reaching for something 'better'. I do feel for those who struggle to get by though. There's plenty of wealth in the world, but some people have far more than they could ever need.
Yes! tech can be a bit annoying some times. I'll get it sorted with an SDD drive. I should have been using one to begin with. Fortunately, the recording got interrupted during silence or filler words so we were able to make a nice clean cut nobody will notice.
Yes, some people have far more things than they'll ever need, and are still not happy. Poor souls are lost in an endless rat rate without ever being truly happy.
This post is a reminder to myself not to get caught up in the idea of success; financial or otherwise.
I'm glad you didn't end up in Costa Rica mate.... It's really not easy dealing with machines, even if it's brand new it still tries to disappoint sometimes almost as if it's doing that intentionally
If we ever choose to be happy only when we become successful, the majority of us may never be happy. This is because as human beings, we are never satisfied.
We keep on wanting things and when we get the things we want or even before getting them, we aim higher so we may never be happy
Happiness should come from within and not just material things alone…
Nice write up!
some humans are never satisfied and keep wanting things. I don't think it's human nature though. I think it's derived from trauma AND not being truly happy from within in the first place.

Doesn't it all just boil down to having specific goals? :D
When one says "successful" isn't that just fluff?? :D Its not very specific Because what does that look like? :D
Yes, one should set specific goals and hopefully not all in dollar value terms. Most of all, this is a reminder not to be frustrated during the process of achieving said goals and not making our happiness depend on whether we reach them or not.
If we don't enjoy the process, do we really have any guarantees we'll be happy once we've reached a specific goal?
Or will we say to ourselves we're setting a new goal and we'll be happy once we reach that new goal?

You're right. I was generalizing too much. I guess it's because I haven't really met another person that's fully contented with the way their life is.
Glad to hear you were able to fix the issue. Good luck on the computer build.

The owner of the property is too rich.
Yeah.. accept the challenges and move forward. 😊

No wonder the property is amazing... I think they already have the ROI empire being sold less.
The video presentation was incredibly beautiful too.😊

Haha things break and that's part of the process. I just needed to take a step back and set my anxiety aside. Everything is fine ;)
I'm glad to hear that mate... You're very optimistic and that's an absolutely great trait to have. Everything is indeed fine
Also, I might end up in Costa Rica one day, but not for that reason 😄
hahahahahahahaha Costa Rica is pretty awesome
