Reinterpretation: The Geometric Yellow Christ // Reinterpretacion: El Cristo Amarillo Geometrico [ENG-ESP]

Greetings everyone, this time I bring you another digital illustration in which I reinterpret works of famous painters, today is the turn of the yellow Christ of the French Paul Gauguin painted in 1889. The Christ becomes the protagonist of the scene, with that yellow color and the lines of the contours very marked, following the cloisonné technique inspired by enamels and stained glass. Compositionally, the cross centers and divides the canvas, oppressively framing the horizontal mast at the top of the scene, cutting out the women in a photographic way. As for the palette they are not what reality offers, rather they are flat and vibrant colors such as yellows mixed with oranges and greens applied in large patches.
On the other hand, based on the original work, I made a reinterpretation in digital whose intention is to keep the same colors of the work but turning the composition into a geometric aspect, using strokes that when joined together will form irregular polygons of different sizes, which later will be accompanied by geometric figures such as triangle, square and circle, giving a greater sense of dynamism, geometry and creativity. I made this illustration with the program illustrator cc using as a drawing tool the pen tool to make all the strokes and the dropper to take color samples of the image.

Saludos a todos, en esta ocasión les traigo otra ilustración digital en el que reinterpreto obras de pintores famosos, hoy es el turno del cristo amarillo del francés Paul Gauguin pintada en el año de 1889. El Cristo se convierte en el protagonista de la escena, con ese color amarillo y las líneas de los contornos muy marcadas, siguiendo la técnica del cloisonné inspirada en los esmaltes y vidrieras. Compositivamente la cruz centra y divide el lienzo, encuadrando opresivamente el mástil horizontal la parte superior de la escena, recortando a las mujeres a modo fotográfico. En cuanto a la paleta no son lo que la realidad ofrece, más bien son colores planos y vibrantes como amarillos mezclados con naranjas y verdes aplicadas en grandes manchas.
Por otra parte, basándome en la obra original, realicé una reinterpretación en digital cuya intención es mantener los mismos colores de la obra pero convirtiendo la composición en un aspecto geométrico, utilizando trazos que al unirse van formando polígonos irregulares de diferentes tamaños, que después estarán acompañados de figuras geométricas como el triángulo, el cuadrado y el circulo, dando una mayor sensación de dinamismo, geometría y creatividad. Esta ilustración la realicé con el programa illustrator cc utilizando como instrumento de dibujo la herramienta pluma para hacer todos los trazados y el cuenta gotas para ir tomando muestras de color de la imagen.
