Would Telepathy Make Life Easier or More Complicated?

Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today’s topic is from Scifi Multiverse, so let’s dive in.

Honestly, I will say this Scifi Multiverse topic is very interesting. Imagine a world where people can communicate telepathically and are able to send their thoughts directly to someone without calling, talking, or sending messages.

Now let’s imagine I can communicate telepathically; my first two reactions will be surprise and fear. You know that strange feeling you get when you realize someone can hear you without you opening your mouth? That’s exactly how I will feel. But at the same time, I will be excited about this telepathic thing. Sometimes we have things we want to say to people but we don’t know how to start the conversation, or we fear the person might get offended or sad. But with telepathy, I can send my thoughts like a message and the person will get it immediately without delay. No need to call, no need to chat, no stress at all. It would be easy and fast.

I also think I would be happy about this telepathy. For example, we all know there are some lecturers who hate when students talk in their class while they are teaching. But with telepathy, it will be easy for me to communicate with my friends. Nobody will even know I’m talking to someone. I can even use this telepathy as an advantage during exams😂😂. My friends and I can communicate without the invigilator knowing.

This reminds me of a novel app I once had called Wattpad. We all know that every novel app contains romance, horror, fantasy, adventure, and so on. Among all the stories I always read, I’m a big fan of werewolf stories. The reason why I love reading them is because of how interesting they are. These werewolves can communicate through telepathy without anyone knowing. And before you can use telepathy, you must belong to a pack, and each pack has an alpha male, alpha female, and others. If you want to join their pack, there is a ritual they perform to accept you. After that ritual, you start hearing everyone’s thoughts, including their biggest secrets. Anytime I’m reading those novels, I always have the urge to communicate without voicing out. But at the same time, I don’t think everything about telepathy will be perfect.

There will be some drawbacks, and one of the biggest problems is privacy. If communication is through the mind, how do I know someone won’t accidentally hear my thoughts? There are times we think things we cannot say out loud. What if someone hears my thoughts by mistake? Honestly, it can cause misunderstanding and even lead to fights. It can also embarrass me because people will hear my silly thoughts.

Another drawback is that it might make people lazy. Imagine everyone communicating without speaking; many people might stop talking because they will feel, What’s the essence of speaking when I can communicate without speaking?

Another drawback is arguments. Have you ever been annoyed by someone? You might send angry or insulting thoughts before thinking twice, and that can make the issue escalate. For example, when my mother asks me to do something and I make a small mistake, she starts complaining. And I start saying things in my mind like, Why can’t she do it herself? or She likes complaining too much, not knowing that she can hear me. The beating I would receive that day 😂😂, I will never forget it.

To me, telepathic communication also has advantages. It can help people who cannot speak or hear. With telepathy, it will be easy for them to share their thoughts. And do you know it can help us detect when people are saying the truth or lying, or even when someone is planning evil?

In conclusion, telepathy would be great, but I’m not sure I would want it. Yes, I love when things are fast, but I also value my private thoughts. Some things are better kept inside than voiced it out.
