Overcoming Procrastination Takes One Step At A Time

in SciFi Multiverselast month

Pushing task forward is one that that happens to almost everyone that exists. One major reason why it happens this way is because in our hearts we feel that we have all the time to get things done. Funny enough, we get to struggle with meeting up with deadlines, which we struggle so much with those deadlines.

The next thing that follows will be giving one excuse to another. It gets so hurtful when it has to do with people that entrust things to our hands. Well, I have been in this situation not once not twice, last year was not so easy for me because I had to struggle to pull through many tasks, some of which I push to a later time till I see myself not doing them again. Journeying into the new year, deep within me, I took some deliberate steps to make sure I don't swim in the same stream of procrastination again. Some of the things I did are what I will be telling you in this post today.

First, I have to be deliberate with my decision and the tasks I pick. Being deliberate is one thing that can help anyone pull through procrastination. Not being carried away with excitement about a new task is a thing for me. I have been wanting to enroll in a course for the year, as my custom is to learn a new thing at the beginning of the year. This time, I carefully made that choice and am working on achieving it. There were many courses that people were suggesting to me, but on my part, I have to consider it well if I will be able to meet up with deadlines and not struggle about it or work to please anyone.

Another vital thing I do is to say no to things I won't be able to achieve within a space. A times we tend to accept appointments or tasks when people get to push us so much into it, and at the end we will fail in those tasks. So this time I have learned to say no to things that I won't meet up with. Fighting procrastination has helped my sanity, and I don't get to struggle with deadlines and more the way I used to.

Your points are valid, procrastination is not something you can overcome in one night or one day.

Thanks for sharing.

Your last point is for me.
These days, I easily hit the 'no' button once I'm not sure of meeting up or being available for such task. Life no suppose hard

The fight of procrastination can be hard especially when you have so much on your plate, sometimes you just give in and the next thing is that you are getting use to it. Although the steps you mention are some of the best way to help with it. This is very educative.
