An alien visit will not be that bad, because I would love to see one, talk them and know how they see things from their own perspective.
With the understanding I get from some alien movies which i have watched, I noticed that they are good and bad aliens and it depends on the way you interact with them that makes it good or bad, but most times their attitude is based on their lifes training.
Maybe from their parents,(if they have any) or from the way they are being created.
It's just mind-blowing seeing an alien in my house or streets walking as if it owns the place, it's not going to be funny for some people but for me it will be not just fun but crazy really crazy, I will not only talk to them, I will also explore their ship if given a chance to. But first I will be observant, firstly I will check if it's a good one or bad one just as they do in movie, so I can't Indanger my life.
If it's a bad one I will not only run away from it I will also fight for his going back, I can't afford to have another tormentors on earth it's will worsen everything for we humans.
If he's a good one, I will try talking to him to see if they truly talk as we do, and after the talk he can return back to where he came from. Because most times things change and they can also change too, if a human can change, then what stops an alien from changing.
I will love to see them just to confirm what I watched on movies. Am not too that comfortable with another being from outside earth it's will be kind of bad..

It's true that it would be an unexpected and unpredictable encounter....
But then, you trying to have a peak and explore the ship does sounds funny...but like you said, it's best to do everything with carefulness while checking first if it's a threat to you or not.

That suspense of knowing how an alien would actually react or what they do would actually make one wish to have an adventure with it aside from the fact that there might be any possibility of an attack
