WHY DO WE SPEND OUR LIVES GATHERING WORLDLY TREASURES WHEN WE WOULD LEAVE THEM BEHIND AT THE END?

One of my favorite verses in the scripture states that “I wish above all things that thou shall prosper and be in good health”. This is to say that even our creator understands the benefit of being prosperous and the disadvantages of not being prosperous.
In another particular chapter in the scripture, it said,” Go to the ant, thou sluggard, and consider her ways and be wise”. This place talks about how smart the ant diligently labours to make food provisions for the rainy and dry seasons. The ant works around the clock to ensure it has enough food in its storage system. And the scripture is telling the sluggard to learn a lesson from such diligence lest sleeping too much bring him to poverty.
This is to show us that our creator is not happy with lazy people; most of his disciples were rich men converted to serve him, like Peter, Paul, Timothy, etc. Now, imagine that our creator is a lazy man, he wouldn’t have gone around teaching and giving himself to supporting people.
While we are still on earth, I strongly believe in diligent work, adding value, and impacting lives. Imagine that people wake up and sleep, and loiter around just recycling sleeping.
Nobody will help each other. We have lots of projects financed by anonymous individuals globally, including UNICEF, SOS homes, Elderly homes, and a lot of community projects, such as boreholes done by organisations like #Hive to communities. Who will sponsor those projects if people are not working daily to make money?
Being able to wake up every day and go to our daily endeavours is motivated by the value we are adding to our lives, our families, our church, society, and the world at large. From our endeavours, the income tax is deducted, which is utilised at the federal level to execute federal projects. In our different families, we use the income to take care of our basic and family needs, as the case may be, up to extended family. Our Pensions are there to take care of us during retirement. So I think it is a worthy cause to wake up every day and hustle for earthly treasures.

However, some people are searching for this earthly treasure in the wrong way, without considering the result. They engage in some ugly activities to make it by fire by force. Some will even tell you that if you can’t beat them, you join them. This is where the onus lies. We should genuinely make income and then impact lives when this wealth keeps increasing.
However, the scripture advised us to build our treasures in heaven where earthly moths will not eat them. Meaning that as we amass this wealth, we should engage in kingdom projects that will grant us continuity beyond the sunset.

We just cannot escape having to work to make sure provision of our needs and wants is not an issue.
You're right, in life we need a balance in every aspect. As much as making wealth is important, we also should neglect things that lies ahead
