Life itself is a mystery so it shouldn't look strange to us when things that we suppose shouldn't matter end up being the priorities of man's life that we chase with our eyes closed.
Come to think of it, if coming to the world and struggling to survive doesn't really mean anything when we would still end up leaving them behind after dieing then why were we created and made to come unto the world in the first place if we will end up dieing at the end. If at all, existence of men should have ended after Adam and Eve but God knows we have to explore and take charge of all things he has created. He didn't just want us to multiply without taking responsibilities on them, he doesn't want us to just arrive here with no impact cos he takes solace in seeing how best we think we can go about recreating what he has put in place even if we are the worst of all his creations.
Let me answer this prompt basically using this phrase. A hungry man who has been fervently praying for wonders to happen so he can have something to eat and fortunately God answered the prayers and someone came knocking with a full plate of cooked food, deliciously and aromatizing the nose, causing the throat to travel up and down with nothing coming through it yet. But then, he started looking at the food, praying fervently again for God to make the food enter into his mouth which we all know can't be possible cos God has done his part and we are left to do our part.
Struggling, hustling and gathering treasures of life is our own part of creation to maintain our existence and It is part of the purpose of human on earth. Mouth is created to eat while hands and legs are created to work hard on bringing what the mouth shall eat to the mouth and life in general is created to enjoy the goodies of the world even if there is going to be an end to it and we are meant to leave them all someday but the only thing that calls for caution is HOW WE GATHER THOSE TREASURES.
In conclusion, it is our mandate no matter how it ends. Our struggles and gathering of wealth no matter how little it is are the scenes of our earthly scenes and for sure there must be an end.

You nailed it all through though, there's the part God does, and there's our own part too, where we really have to get up and work, sitting down won't bring food to our table neither will it clothe or shelter us.
That part about the impact we leave behind and "how we gather those treasures," really hit.
