it is always good to have well thought out goals and an action plan to achieve them. At this time of year, we tend to think of where we've been and where we're going. Nice to see you making your plans and sharing them with us!
I'm always interested in what others are doing.
Regarding S or now H Basic Income, I really need to come to some conclusion on how I feel about it. For a long time I just dabbled in that program. The thought/concern in my mind is that the Basic Income comes from the common reward pool we're all getting our posting, commenting and curating rewards from. I feel a bit guilty when I think of buying into a system that uses the reward pool in this way.
But I know that this is not the same old system. There have been changes. I just haven't followed along closely enough to see how I feel about the current system. And also, on this platform it might be wise to understand how some of the more highly staked accounts feel about things, as getting on their bad sides can affect our goals. I'm not sure where sentiment on HSBI lies these days.
General Goals for 2026
I'm fairly happy with my HP which classifies me as an Orca and in the top 300 HP holders. I don't have thoughts about doing a major HP stacking, or a major unstake. I'll probably just keep building my HP as the commenting and curation rewards come in.
I collect smaller hive-engine tokens Just For FUN. I have no expectation of profit. I have no new goals here either. But I do expect that we'll see something like hive-engine built on VSC/Magi so that should be interesting!
I consider what LEO is doing on hive-engine and beyond to be a different kind of token and I do hope for possible profit from the likes of LSTR, SURGE, TTSLA etc.
I have plans for PEPE Game and MetaRobots in 2026 and I have been making consistent although sometimes slow progress in these projects over the last 4+ years. I do it for fun and advise that they are games one should enjoy in the moment as they can go away at any time. Not that I plan to close anything any time soon, but I can offer no guarantees!

There will always be detractors that speak against Hive SBI, and occasionally that opposition involves downvotes. We are not aware of any particularly vocal opponents that are not using the rewards pool to fund their own programs much more aggressively than we use it to support thousands of small accounts.
Whether you consider account-based curation to be an acceptable form of curation is, of course, entirely subjective. That's not a decision that we can make for you. We consider the value in the chain to be its people, not the content they create. As such, we consider account-based curation models to be critical to Hive's success.
Our internal retention metrics are orders of magnitude better than those for Hive as a whole, both at the free level (members that have never paid anything into Hive SBI) and at the paid level (members that have paid to curate others and receive their curation rewards back as upvotes). If you value individuals over content, Hive SBI is one of the best programs on Hive.

That is thought provoking; thanks for sharing this viewpoint. I do feel that a lot of what each of us do on here is subjectively good or not, for the entire blockchain. Everyone can have their own opinion and do as they see fit, and deal with consequences that may arise. If nothing else, HIVE has always been an interesting place to be!
