Vote Now: Yay or Nay for WW3?

Everything indicates that Vladimir Putin of Russia will invade Ukraine during the first week of February, when the world's attention is on the Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

Europe is bound to react with severe sanctions at the minimum, at least in the beginning. Russia will then cut its gas pipelines with the EU, that supplies 40% of Europe's energy. The EU will retaliate some more, possibly then with the SWIFT sanction that will have an immediate effect on the Russian economy by cutting off its banking sector from the world.

Russia in turn will cut the undersea cables next to Ireland (a Russian spy ship with the ability to cut cables was spotted right above the cables this week, and 2 years ago as well.) This will practically switch off a large part of the world's internet and also communications worldwide, with all the Big Tech companies hosting major server farms in Ireland.

Right now, several countries are readying their nuclear arsenals, including the UK. As one can expect, it is happening behind the scenes, with only world leaders knowing about it thanks to their intelligence agencies. Most European countries, especially small ones, are covertly deploying their troops at strategic defense positions and getting ready for a war across the continent.

Biden placed 8 500 troops on high alert, on top of the many American troops already stationed across Europe, with some reports saying the number can be rapidly increased to 50 000. One must wonder if the NSA tipped off the American president already last year, which is why Biden ended the disastrous Afghanistan affair so promptly and decisively.

Regardless of the number of US troops in Europe, they will inevitably clash with Russian soldiers, which will turn the situation into a war between Russia and America.

In 2014 Putin readied Russia's nuclear arsenal and moved nuclear missiles openly as a warning to Obama not to interfere with the Crimea situation. Obama wee-wee'd himself and did nothing, despite big talk of red lines and more.
But one should remember the US was still deeply involved in Iraq and Afghanistan, and not even the mighty US military can fight more than two wars at a time.

It is expected that Putin will once again do the same with his dangerous lead-based toys, but Biden made it clear some days ago that the mistakes of 2014 won't be repeated. Which means that the US will ready its nukes as well, and with no current wars going on to keep the greedy American military complex happy, another war is on the cards.

US spy planes were spotted flying on the Ukraine border for the past few days – not to mention spy satellites parked up high – to snoop on Russian communications. One can only wonder if they could decrypt the Russian chit-chat they gathered.

The situation is terribly serious. NATO made it clear most of Russia's demands will not even be considered, and for good reason as well. Ukraine is a sovereign state, after all, and should get to choose with whom it wants to align and sign treaties with. Putin knew it, and plotted many months or even years ago on how to get the Ukraine back under the Russian sphere of influence.

When the previous pro-Russian Ukrainian president was chased out of the country in 2014, Putin retaliated by invading and taking part of Ukraine, the Crimea peninsula. But naughty Ukraine is still leaning towards the West, and Putin just won't leave it there. NATO won't budge either, and Putin dare not withdraw without getting concessions from the EU. If he does, it will destroy his image as strongman of Russia.

An invasion is imminent, and unlike 1939, almost all countries involved – the UK, France, China, Pakistan and India, and Israel will somehow be drawn in too – have nuclear weapons. When a country is about to lose a war, it will use all weapons to its disposal, screw any and all 'fight polite' rules from Geneva.

A week ago, on 20 January 2022, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists that maintains the Doomsday Clock have now set the clock to 100 seconds before midnight. This is the closest it ever was since the clock's founding in 1947, to an apocalypse. Yep, not even during any time during the Cod War was humankind so close into destroying itself.

The clock is metaphorical, it is actually a bunch of scientific formulas used to determine dangers humankind face, most notably nuclear war and climate change.

If Putin does not withdraw, we'll have a nuclear world war starting over 7, maybe 14 days from today.

Cast your vote. Say your say in the comments, should we get the stupidity over with by nuking 99% of the planet now, or should we… well, what should we do?

A useful analysis ! There is another way of looking at it; that Russia's security concerns are valid, and that Biden thinks wrapping himself in the Stars & Stripes and portraying himself as a wartime president will improve his domestic ratings in time for the mid-term elections.

A lot of Americans think it'll be like Serbia, Iraq, Afghanistan or Libya; a proxy war in a far away place with just enough US dead to make them feel patriotic, but no risk of actual damage to the US homeland. They forget that Russia has a proud history literally built on fending off wave after wave of invaders (from the Golden Horde onward), and they are tough and imaginative fighters. While they probably can't win against the US, they can make sure no-one wins, and can probably hold on for long enough for China to join the party. I just really hope it doesn't come to that !

I don't think that anyone, including the two major parties involved, actually want this to happen. There will be no winner in this sort of conflict...especially not the people of Ukraine.

I have to differ, specifically on the part 'nobody wants it to happen.' That's true for 99% of everyone in Western Europe, but Putin is clearly set to achieve something. He dare not withdraw those troops without getting something from NATO, it will be political suicide for his image, and they made it clear they won't concede to his public demands. So what's he to do?

Personally I think he's aiming to get at least a part of Ukraine to become permanent Russian territory, specifically the Donbas region with its majority Russian speakers living there. It's a coal-rich area, and China's energy needs are under severe strain. So, coal for China, and China helps Russia circumvent the expected SWIFT sanctions, while Putin cut his gas pipelines supplying 40% of Western Europe for 3 months as leverage. The latter will politically destabilize Europe where elections are underway (like France, with its many industrial strikes), which is something both Russia and China like.

Putin is a master at politics, and he plays the divided West like a fiddle. 🤣 He does not care about losing his pawns (soldiers) to accomplish goals, and a war will boost his waning popularity in Russia, and emergency measures will solidify his autocratic hold even more.

His government is running propaganda full-steam everywhere in Russia now, with even television channels saying that MAD is outdated, Russia will win a nuclear war. Putin won't pull off such major gambles without having a big goal in mind.

wow, that was a wonderful explanation. I thoroughly enjoyed that. Let's not forget the military industrial complex. They would probably be ok with this conflict and probably having it spread too.
