RE: Light-hearted crazy news from North Carolina

Bald eagles migrate through the inland northwest, and there are cruises on Lake Coeur d'Alene in the Idaho panhandle to watch them feast on fish every year. I've seen them from time to time closer to where I live, but it's rare. There are also osprey nests on artificial snags to keep those birds away from. Dangerous trees and power lines. Assorted hawks, falcons, and owls round out the regional birds of prey. The owls are the most likely avian culprits when pets go missing, but coyotes are more likely at fault.

outside of a captive environment or on a video I have never seen an eagle but I certainly would like to. We get owls around here every now and then and they never cease to amaze me. such majestic creatures and although we view them as cute, they are extremely deadly killers.

Cats are also extremely deadly killers while also cute as can be. I saw a meme where someone who had an owl said it was a bird running on cat software.

someone who had an owl said it was a bird running on cat software.

That's hilarious and perfect.

I recall an interview years ago where they were talking to an owl trainer and the story was about how there was an increased demand for owls as pets thanks to Harry Potter and this trainer who was handling an owl said, "this is not a pet, this is a killing machine, nothing more, nothing less"
