Before I go ahead with the prompts for the week, I will have to say that i'm really excited to posting here in the Nigerian community as someone that is not Nigerian... Love the Nigerian people and especially their food :D. I have 2 Nigerian friends and they are lovely, very kind and amazing people.
So based on my experience, I will have to say that the Nigerian people I have met are really kind and lovely. The Nigerian Jollof rice, plantain and chicken is one of the best tasting combos, and also the popular Nigerian egusi soup which is incredibly tasty and spicy too :D. Wish one day, i would visit Nigeria to experience the amazing cultures and meet more amazing Nigerians.
Now back to my entry for the prompt...
When it comes to a memory that I would love to experience again, it would have to be my childhood days. My childhood was fantastic... I had everything a child would wish to have...
Adulthood and the challenges and stress that comes with adulthood has made me miss my childhood days where as a child, you have nothing to worry about... all I did was eat, play video games, go to the park with my parents, whenever i want anything, my parents always get them for me, (only things that were reasonable for a child to have)...
because even though I had almost everything I wanted as a child, I didn't get everything i wanted because my parents were also strict in the sense that they trained me well, ensured that I didn't lack anything, gave me good advice, made sure that I read my books, did my home works and be a good child.
That's something that I give my parents huge credit for... They are amazing.
So looking back, I will have to say that my childhood days is definitely up there when it comes to memories i would love to relive.
Apart from having almost everything I wanted as a kid, the one moment I would love to relive again in my childhood days is "The Family Reunion/Family Picnic" that happened when I was around fourteen years old.
I can remember vividly it was a bright and sunny Sunday afternoon after Service when my direct family and extended family gathered at a park for a family reunion and family picnic... it was filled with laughter, stories and lots of delicious foods... I mean, lots of all kinds of foods and grilled meat.
The family reunion and picnic was a special moment for me as a very young girl because it brought us all together and embodies the warmth of family bonds and the happiness that comes from family connection.
I can clearly remember the amazing feeling having all your cousins of similar age around, coming from far and wide and all gathered in the same place.
I played games with my favorite cousins (I love all my cousins though but there are some cousins that are just closer :D... cousins from my mom's side), listened to my grandparents tell us stories of what happened in their youth days, gave us advices that is still stuck with me... and above all, the love that surrounded everyone of us which created memories that will always be with us.
Since my grandparents aren't anymore, replicating that memory is impossible and which is why if I have a machine that could take me back to those relive memories, I would definitely wish to relive those family reunion and family picnic moments. Those moments really made me see and feel the importance of family love and the memories we created which each and everyone of us cherished.
