You see, life is filled with challenges—daily struggles and the dreams of a better future. And in these moments, many of us turn to God. We kneel, we cry, and sometimes, we fast and pray, asking for one thing: money.
Now, let me ask you something. Have you ever found yourself praying, “God, please give me money so I can solve all my problems”? Maybe you’ve seen your parents do the same or heard friends say it. It’s such a common prayer. But I want to share a truth with you today—one that can change the way you see things forever.
The truth is, God doesn’t give money the way you think. God’s way is not to hand you cash like someone handing you a gift. No, God’s greatest treasure is not money—it’s faith. Faith is the currency of heaven, and it’s what connects us to His blessings.
So today, I want to help you understand how to pray for the things you need—especially money—by using faith, wisdom, and action. Let’s learn how to make 2025 a year of blessings, not just by praying harder, but by praying smarter. Are you ready? Let’s dive in.
Let me explain this in a way you can easily understand.
Imagine you’re hungry and praying for food. Will God drop a plate of jollof rice from the sky into your hands? No. What God will do is give you the strength to cook, or He’ll send someone to bless you with food. The same thing applies to money. God doesn’t give cash; He gives ideas, wisdom, and opportunities to earn money.

Why Faith Is the Key
When you pray, your faith is what opens doors. Faith means believing that God will show you what to do to solve your problems. Deuteronomy 8:18 says, “Remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the power to get wealth.” Notice it says power to get wealth, not wealth itself. Power can mean wisdom, skills, or ideas.
A Real-Life Example – Joseph in Egypt
Let’s look at Joseph in the Bible. In Genesis 41, Egypt faced seven years of drought. There was no food anywhere, and people were struggling. But God gave Joseph a brilliant idea: He told Egypt to grow crops during the good years and store them. When the drought came, they opened their storehouses and sold food to their neighbors. Egypt became very rich—not because money fell from heaven, but because God gave Joseph wisdom and a plan.
How to Pray for Money
If you want money, don’t just pray, "God, give me money!" Instead, pray like this:
- Ask God for ideas. Pray, "God, show me something I can do to help others."
- Pray for wisdom. Say, "God, help me use this idea to make a difference."
- Pray for strength. Ask, "God, give me the energy to work hard."
For example, let’s say you’re good at cooking. Instead of just praying for money, pray for an idea to start selling small snacks like puff-puff or chin-chin in your neighborhood. Ask God to bless your work and bring people to buy from you. That’s how money will come.
Everyday Struggles and Faith
Think about this: When you see someone selling water, cooking food, or fixing shoes by the roadside, they didn’t get rich by sitting at home and only praying. They used their hands, their skills, and their ideas. But with prayer, God can make their small efforts grow into something big.
The Right Prayer for 2025
As we move forward, let’s change the way we pray. Don’t just pray for money to appear. Pray for ideas that solve problems. Pray for the wisdom to use your skills. Pray for favor, so people will support your work. God will bless the works of your hands, not just your words.
Remember, God wants you to live a happy and comfortable life. But He also wants you to grow, learn, and work hard. When you mix prayer with effort, that’s when the blessings beyond been broke flows in naturally like a river
