Greetings, Naijans!
2023 was a blast! That's undisputed. Not only did we have a revamp of the community, we have had many other exciting things happen, and every single one of them has brought us as far as we have come with the community. We experienced the full joys of being a part of the Hive Blockchain collectively.
We are deeply grateful to every one of us—Nigerians and tourists—for being patriotic and making the year 2023 a truly memorable one. We have indeed grown as a community; we are no longer what we used to be. Accolades to our team of moderators and admins that work tirelessly, selflessly, and wholeheartedly to make the community blossom.
We also express our sincere gratitude to all the amazing authors we got to read over the year. You all made it really easy to love the community more through your beautiful and funny stories; your personality and loyalty were expressed to the community through your profound words.
More importantly, we want to take this time to appreciate every sponsor who played a part in Hive Naija’s growth. From delegations to reward provision, you all have been the best! Special thanks to the INLEO team, who gave our community (and many others) the opportunity to grow under their special programmes, one of which is the Author of the Week (AOTW).
With INLEO’s support and initiative, many authors have been recognised (through decentralisation) for their ability to candidly express themselves through words. The AOTW initiative has no doubt brought forth shining stars and contributed immensely to the growth of the community.
However, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the discontinuation of the Author of the Week initiative until further notice due to the situation with the polls. The INLEO team is actively working towards rectifying this issue, but until then, the Author of the Week initiative is suspended.
We understand how this would make many of us feel about having something that we look forward to every week taken away. Hopefully, this announcement should not discourage us from being amazing with our efforts in the community.
We look forward to reading more from all the great authors in our community. Invite someone to come and share the Nigerian experience with us, or join us to create memorable ones as a community with the other initiatives we have running. The community is open to people from different walks of life with their own stories.
