Why Do We Follow Who We Follow On Hive

It is a fact to say that there is a motive behind every action and before an action, there is a thought. Since there is a thought before an action, that means there must be a reason for the action. So why do we follow the people we follow on hive? Do we follow them to increase the amount of people we are following or with the thought of them following us back.

Sometimes, we must have thought to ourselves, my followers are not aligned with my followings. It is not a bad thing if the people you’re following are more than your followers. So long you have something you’re learning from them or a reason you follow them, then it’s good.

For the past one week now, my followers base has been increasing greatly because I set a goal to reach 500 followers before the end of 2024. The more people follow me, the more I follow them back but there are some set of people I followed back not because I’m trying to increase my followers but because I saw something unique in them and this people are

This is a new user on Hive. She is the person I followed recently and the reason I followed her is because I onboarded her on Hive myself. She’s my new cub, I’m still training her on hive and another reason I followed her is to help her grow on Hive and watch her activities so I would know when to step in to give her a helping hand.

He is also a newbie. The main reason I followed him was because of his write up. After interacting with two of his blog, he came to mine and the comment he gave were great comment. The comment showed that he read the post thoroughly and he understood. It was his comment that made me follow him and since I had followed him, I saw that he was an amazing person.

Our relationship started on X fka twitter. I wanted to win giveaway hosted by the account #cbrs and one of the criteria was to follow the account. Funny fact is that the handler of this account is an amazing person because they are very interactive and always engage with my content. It was like we have always been friends and that is the kind of vibe I love.

This person here is considered a whale on hive and I was so happy when he followed me first. It was like a celebrity following you, I guess it was because of our interaction on discord during the #hive Zealy campaign period. We followed each other on X and hive. I felt so happy when he followed me and I couldn’t hold back following him back. Also, his knowledge about crypto and hive ecosystem is another particular reason I followed him. I read his post and there is so much to learn from it.

Another person I consider to be a whale. She was closer to me than I thought. You know there are some people that would pick an interest in you then watch your activities just to see if you’re doing well or not. That is the kind of person Monica is. I guess she was following me way back before I followed her. She sent a Dm to me and we were discussing on WhatsApp and I never knew she was the one I was talking to until she revealed her user name so I had to follow her. Her knowledge of Hive is amazing has she shared her experience with me and i was able to pick up some information that are very useful from it.
