It's an honour again to bring forth my participation for day 21 of this October inleo on this glorious platform of hive Naija. This topic is a very clinical and good theme to be discussed especially in the time and season we are in right where many children at the verge of decision making are clouded with options. In an attempt to make the right choice is quite difficult but deliberate effort must be put in place in order to come up with the right choice.
Career choice has been a great challenge but when there's good counsel and guidance, this can easily be managed to God's glory. Some of the factors that causes havoc at this point in many children and parents are the competition and others that I will be sharing. I wouldn't want to take sight instead I will attempt to bring balance to this so that we would all have a common ground.
Parents have a role to play in the right choice of their children's career. One of the cardinal thing I value so much is that every parent is a foundation layer. Parent are to make all necessary measures to ensure that the right environment is created for the children to have an open mind to take decision. Parents are not to take sight but guide them through. There are times where some parents decided for their children and the whole thing ended in dreadlock. The child didn't proceed with the career neither do the parent even enjoy the child. The child never wanted it at the initial but because of their selfish interest, they mandated their opinion on the child and it really affected him.
Parents are provide all the things the children needed in order to soar higher and have a free mind in making decisions. There are some children that aren't matured hence need proper guidance. Parents should be able to take stock and analysed their children's ability to know their strength and weakness. Sometimes varied analytical techniques could be deployed.
Children should be be given the opportunity to make the choice of their heart and ability. Everyone is a product of the decision made. When children take such decisions and something boomerang at least bulk of it will be on the child. When a child exercises his right and choices, there is a feeling that comes with it. At least the esteem is maintained.

The capacity to face and confront pressure is another challenge that affects the choice of career. To balance this, children should not relegate their parents and make them feel obsolete because they have some idea that could help. Career choice involves critical thinking and reasoning.
I could remember when I was at the verge of my career choice too, I faced lots of confusion. I chose three different fields but at the end, I am happy and comfortable with where I am today.I had different views and perspective but I had to draw conclusions to it.
As I conclude, there should be balanced between the parents and the children in the place of career choice and both parties should be appreciated and seen relevant. Please parents should not impose their will on the children neither should the children inturn look down on the their parents because of their age.

So much positive counsel in your entry. Some parents are truly selfish and have giving their wards a hard time as regarding this. We should be guided and then taught to be fully responsible for the decision we make.
I can't agree less with you about some parents behavior as regard career choice for their children, and i literally see it as punishment when parents decide a field of study for their children cause they are forced studying what they have no passion for.
