You Really Want To Know Who This Is, Trust Me || Introduction Post

Hello Hive, so happy to be a newbie here. I got to know about Hive from my big brother @starstrings01 and got the full details about Hive at the @hivesocialexperience, which took place in the city of Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. With @starstrings01 as the convener and @olujay, the co-host.

The @hivesocialexperience was indeed an experience, with information about Hive properly dissected and exposed to the participants.
“Heard from the horse's mouth,” as the saying goes. Listened to the experience of those that are already in the community.
The host made a statement that keeps ringing in my head; he said, “Do not come to Hive with the mindset of coming to make money, because you would be disappointed, but come with the mindset to create something valuable.”

All well and good, but I am here to have my own experience!

ABOUT MYSELF

I am Gift Aregbesola. Decided to claim Lagos State, a southwestern state in Nigeria, as my state of origin, with my parents’ approval, of course, as it is my state of birth. Even with the knowledge of what “STATE OF ORIGIN” is, anyone born in the States would unconsciously mention that he’s from the States when asked. I hope you understand what I’m driving at. Smiles…

What can I be caught doing, always? The mother would be listening to music with the child, singing. Loving God made me fall in love with music, and also everyone in my family sings. Who am I to be a black sheep?

Should I add this?... Ok. Well, I enjoyed playing football with my friends (mostly males) in the neighbourhood when I was younger, but as I grew up, reality gave me a slap on the face to tell me that I am not a boy, but that didn't stop me from liking football, nonetheless. Throughout my secondary school education I didn't get the chance to play until I got to the university. Joined my college’s (the College of Engineering) female football team, and together with my teammates, we made history by moving from a non-existent team to the third-best female team in the whole of the school. Got a bronze medal in football and a silver medal in handball.

P.S: I just posed with the cup, it's not mine, but the medal on my neck is. Smiles…

I smile a lot and also like putting smiles on people’s faces; that can be a hobby too, right? There's scarcely a dull moment with me, a very big achievement that is.

I fell in love with God at a tender age and have been loving and growing with Him ever since. I love Him so so much. And yeah, some people call me Mummy G.O. Why do they?... Don't ask me, ask them!

EDUCATIONAL STATUS

I am a student, currently in my finals, studying Mechatronics Engineering. Surprising, right? The animation, Jimmy Neutron, had something to do with it, God too.

I didn’t want to choose between mechanical and electrical engineering, realizing that there is a course that happens to be the combination of both, even with computer engineering, made mechatronics look more enticing.

Even though the specific aspect I would like to venture into in mechatronics engineering still looks gloomy, I know there is still a long way to go and a lot for me to discover in it.

I have met and I'm still meeting people in this field, making this journey more enjoyable and less of a burden.

GIFT AS AN ENTREPRENEUR

After my secondary school education, I started learning solar installation, combined with a little knowledge in electrical repairs. I didn’t get to go on some solar installation trips, due to the fact that I am a female and my parents are overly protective of me. With just a few close-by locations I was allowed to go to, I didn’t really grasp the art of solar installation. I would love to finish learning it, though.

It was in my third year at the university that I got the courage to tell people I make repairs. It took that long because I felt I had little knowledge in that aspect and also because I don’t like dealing with the shenanigans of people. Now, I specialize in the diagnosis and repair of extension boxes, hotplates, and some other student electrical and electronics problems. This might look small, but not so many people can do it. I also got the alias “Engineer” from my roommates and customers.

MY NEW INTERESTS

I became interested in 3D modeling design (SOLIDWORKS and Autodesk Fusion), but I dropped it due to lack of motivation. Hoping to continue my learning process and also feed you on my progress.
Having a lot of interests can be problematic at times, because it makes focus look like an expensive commodity.

Over the years, natural hair growth, styling, and trichology, as a whole, started catching my attention. I also started paying attention to the various body types, color combinations, cloth combinations, and some other aspects related to fashion designing and cloth styling. Can’t see how these interests relate, but who knows what the future holds? Only God does.

WHY I JOINED THIS GREAT PLATFORM

I joined Hive because I really want to become the best version of myself. I want to meet people, grow together with them, and be able to look back and see growth, then continue in that pace.

I got to know about Hive from my big brother @starstrings01 and got the full details about Hive at the @hivesocialexperience, which took place in the city of Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. With @starstrings01 as the convener and @olujay, the co-host. @hivesocialexperience revealed that Hive is a place of transparency. I got to know the benefits of being in this community, the different aspects and ways of earning on Hive. I was privileged to listen and learn from the various experiences of those that are already in Hive.

IN CONCLUSION

I hope @hivesocialexperience doesn’t stay as one of those programs I have attended but that it is already a starting point for me in Hive.
