Shopping isn’t something one does everytime. It happens sometimes and that’s if you’re ready for the stress it comes with. Let me take you through the journey of My Window Shopping. Window shopping is a lot easier. Window shopping is an often overlooked way to reduce overconsumption and promote sustainability. This simple activity teaches us how to wait, how to think before purchasing, and how to consider what we truly need versus what we want at the moment.
Growing up as a child in Nigeria, this cheese balls is something to crave for everyday. If you are lucky to have people who buy them for you that is a big flex.
This was the first cheese balls we had in the early 2000. The cheese balls was sold for N5, then later N10. As a kid, I bought it and more (lol). I can remember when I ate 4 of this cheese and my friends told me that I was going to poop cheese balls. I was so scared. When it was time to do the poop guess what? I was checking to see if it actually came out as the cheese balls. But then realized I was played! (LOL).
So I stumbled on this Cheese in the supermarket and guess what? I quickly grabbed it. I was so happy and all the memories kept flashing. It’s no longer sold in retail stores except some shopping malls. I checked the price, well it’s now N295 naira. I didn’t mind because all I wanted was a taste of it.
And here it is. I felt the crunchy taste again and all the flashbacks kept rolling in. This was one of my best snack as a child and I still love it.
There’s one thing I can’t resist anytime I go shopping and that’s buying a Snickers!! I must get one, if not I’ll feel incomplete (Lol)
The taste is irresistible and the satisfaction is everything. As for the price of this snickers, I didn’t check cause I saw it when I was done shopping and quickly grabbed one.
I won’t forget to add this to the cart. Susage beef roll popularly called Gala. But this particular one is called Superbite and my favourite. I didn’t buy it in the supermarket but on the road from people who hawk. I was in the bus, on my way to the house when I saw them. I have been away from home and haven’t eaten gala in like 7months.
So when I went to Lagos to visit home, I stumbled on this again and I was like where have you been? I quickly requested for 5, but the price was shocking! N200 for 1 gala. I was like since when and how. Something I bought 8 months back for N50/60 (small) N100(big). I had to return 3 and requested for 2 only. Because I was in shock and couldn’t just buy 5 gala for N1000, something I buy for N250. Although, I enjoyed it cause I have missed the bite of it.
Window shopping is the simplest and easiet kind of shopping for me. Because you already know your budget or things to buy before going to shop. If per adventure you stumble on something you didn’t plan for, there is always an extra fee left to buy it.
Also I want to appreciate everyone @hivenaija for the warm welcome.
Much Love
