Note 10/12

I watched a documentary about artificial intelligence in countries with devastated economies—a story from another post—but because of this, huge corporations can exploit their populations far more than when a government is present to protect them. I'm talking about "Madagascar: AI's Cheap Labor." This video uses examples to show how AI advanced in this country without any regulation, generating millions in profits at the expense of cheap labor.

This lack of care for precarious workers generates a lot of anxiety, little time to live, and very little "profit" from their labor. The large AI monopolies work to consolidate total power over their competitors. Examples of the four titans I placed in the cover image (Gemini, ChatGP, Perplexity, and Deep AI) generate competition at the expense of poorly paid workers, performing tasks that would be "better paid" in their countries of origin. They abuse the power granted to them by subservient politicians.

Thanks to this, countries like the one featured in this video are key sources of cheap labor, but at what cost are we allowing this to happen? For example, I currently pay around 7,999 Argentine pesos for a promotional offer with another food delivery app. At today's exchange rate, that's approximately $5 USD per month for the ChatGPT Plus plan. I'm getting a lot of use out of it, experimenting with questions that help me with everyday topics or generating the occasional image for Rising Star posts. But for this to happen, there were people from other countries behind all this work, who see the smallest possible percentage in their pockets while huge talks and investments are made about how this would help evolution and community work. Ultimately, though, it's closely tied to the profits of its investors.

The change and the work of governors, countries, and the people themselves is enormous to prevent these things from happening, to prevent us from returning to (or, in many cases sadly, continuing to return to) a feudal system where the working class remains enslaved, without protection, without a future, and without prospects, at the expense of the multimillion-dollar profits of a few.

I'd like to know what the Hive community thinks about this, since AI is used by 90% (I believe) of all users here. I look forward to your comments 💫

I think understanding is critical to survival, and most people have only a cursory understanding of AI, technocracy, government, and how these intersect. Catastrophes happen from time to time (there are a variety of claims cycles emerge from quantification of societal disruption), and people that have prepared to secure essential resources (food, water, shelter, security, etc.) in exigent circumstances preferentially survive. It is increasingly apparent that incipient democlysm (pathological governance resulting in mass casualties) is imminent.

AI contributes to the imposition of approaching catastrophe by several vectors, planning, management, and C&C of offensive tactics and strategies. Because people do not understand what AI is, they misapprehend the nature of the threat, and what they can do to mitigate it. AI isn't autonomous, nor potential to be, but is advanced and diverse algorithms wielded by substantial stakeholders to attain their goals. The enemy isn't AI, anymore than guns kill people.

Just as armed civilians alone secure themselves from interpersonal violence, people implementing private AI will best secure themselves from democidal threats emerging at all scales. The primary threat is always deception, because absent understanding preparations are inevitably inadequate to actual threats. People that prepare only for floods are utterly vulnerable to fire, for example. It is crucial that the incipient threat is comprehensive, and only communities are capable of survival. Individuals in bunkers are just pre-buried if no society survives to emerge into after an event is over.

Because of these facts, people that act to create independent productive capacity of essential resources in resilient autonomous communities will be best positioned to restore prosperity after the suicidal collapse of the technocracy (the people that have accumulated the financial capital to implement democidal catastrophe are inherently incapable of implementing functional society thereafter, and their narcissism prevents them from understanding their incompetence).

AI is simply sorting taken to the extreme. While autonomous drones can be programmed, they are incapable of agency that isn't programmed in. The worst threat we face is the malicious disinformation that clouds our judgement, because that prevents us from understanding and preparing for the real threat we face, which is malevolent stakeholders intending to kill us and take our stuff, and I don't mean what's in our pockets or bank accounts, but the world.

Thanks!

Because of these facts, people who act to create productive capacity independent of essential resources in resilient autonomous communities will be better positioned to restore prosperity after the suicidal collapse of technocracy (people who have accumulated the financial capital to implement the demographic catastrophe are inherently incapable of implementing a functional society thereafter, and their narcissism prevents them from understanding their incompetence).

So you're saying that those who know it from being exploited today will be the ones who fare best? I hope so too, because after so much exploitation of their labor, they'll at least get some benefit... but these big AI monopolies, as you say, will be left with their narcissism, devoid of any understanding of their own incompetence.

There are many things that need improvement in all of this, and I hope that the world, little by little... society, will see them and improve them.

"...you're saying that those who know it from being exploited today will be the ones who fare best?"

Not exactly. Those that understand that dependence on overlords will create intolerable slavery and act to independently produce their necessities and support communities that do the same, will ultimately prosper. Them that only suffer exploitation and do not pro-actively create independence from the essentials supplied by their masters will fare worst of all, I fear.

Food has long been weaponized, and just being able to eat when overlords demand you grovel for crumbs can be a great victory.

I think the strong will use AI to enhance their lives.

The weak will use AI to tell them what to do.

Weak not in terms of prosperity or wealth but in terms of will.

I am not sure borders or governments will be important in the same way they have been for most of society. I don't think they can protect us from this.

I could be wrong but I don't think it will be sunshine and rainbows. It will be hard and people who do not learn to try to control these things will be confused as it changes and is not consistent.

"...I don't think it will be sunshine and rainbows."

The past 5 years have been an evolving democidal attack on humanity by pathological banksters using full spectrum dominance to comprehensively deceive and destroy as many people as possible. Billions of people have been harmed by malicious medical interventions, tens of millions have been killed, and many of the vectors of iatrogenic harm are just beginning to eventuate. The primary means by which this violence has been effected is deception, and I am confident it isn't over. While media bleat deceptive narratives, governments prepare to diversify the range and lethality of the harms they are imposing.

You are very right, IOW. People that aren't preparing to survive existential threats across every possible vector are preparing to die. Because deception is the primary mechanism being used to prevent us, the intended victims, from successfully surviving, depending on commercially deployed AI is almost begging to be deceived. FOSS AI privately held will enable the utility of such algorithms to be controlled by folks, as long as potential back doors are precluded. Little could be worse than for the software of our production management systems to suddenly turn out to be controlled by our enemies, as Iran experienced when Stuxnet destroyed their centrifuges.

As is always true, deception is the worst threat we face, and understanding the actual situation and nature of the tools we use to mitigate threats is the critical hurdle we must overcome to even stay on the field of battle.

It will be tough for sure. Deception can lead vulnerable people really anywhere and AI can do that at scale.

AI will do a lot of good things too. It already is increasing efficiency in a lot of ways in various industries.

I do think it will make the world a better place but people should be careful the extent to which they interact with it in a social way. People should avoid thinking of it as friend.

I also believe that people who don't learn this will be harmed in one way or another. We see this somewhat with our elderly and their mobile banking or virtual wallet apps, which only offer virtual access to administration, making everything more complicated for them because they don't know how to use them.
