After three years, my brother, my only male sibling, has returned to the country. The excitement is so great that since he arrived home, we have not stopped celebrating his return and our union as a family.
The happiest is his daughter, Yeyé, who had not seen him for many years and like any child, needs a father figure 24 hours a day. For her it was a surprise to see her father, after so many years watching him through video calls and videos, since she could finally hug him, kiss him and especially: her father could cuddle her, pamper her, hold her:
_Finally together, daddy! -said the Yeyé when she saw him and we all burst into tears because her words sounded as if she had finally had her wish granted.
My brother went to Brazil because of the situation in Venezuela. He has done very well there, but when the elections were held in July, he promised he would return. He promised it to the Yeyé and she, every time he called, reminded him:
_And when are you coming, Dad? -she would ask and Julio, my youngest brother, would answer:
_Pronto, muy pronto -and that soon came last week.
Nobody told my niece the day her father would arrive, so it was a surprise for her to see him. She threw herself into his arms, happy, and my brother, excited, carried her as if he were a prince and she were his princess, trying with that embrace to give her all the hugs he has not been able to give her.
The situation in our country Venezuela is still as catastrophic, but my brother has thought about staying, especially because he sees how the Yeyé is growing and he is missing part of that process:
_What? I left for her, to give her a better life, and now I want to stay for her too, also to give her a better life,” commented my brother full of doubts and eager to be in the front row of his daughter's life.
I really don't know what will happen; for now my brother, and the whole country, will wait until January 10 to make a decision. In the meantime, he has already attended my niece's first educational event, a parrandón to which he was specially invited; he is also devoting himself to spoil her in every way he can, going out with her, cooking for her: he is trying, if possible, to make up for the time he has not been with her physically.
We are also taking advantage of my brother's presence in the house, especially my mother, who after my nephew's death, had refused to smile, and with my brother's arrival, she has a different countenance.
Finally, what a joy, what an emotion, when, in spite of the adversities, we are together again: it feels like an invisible force, a renewed joy and great hope that is difficult to describe.
Saludos, @nancybriti1.

I feel for your brother. Money is not a substitute for missing your child growing up.
What happens on January 10th, was that the anniversary of the election?
On January 10, the newly elected president, in this case Edmundo González Urrutia, is to take office, but the government, like a tick, is holding on to power and threatening to take the military to the streets. :( Thank you for commenting. Hugs
