Hola amigos! El día de hoy me tome un momento para reflexionar un poco sobre un tema que se me había venido a la mente hace un tiempo y que hoy volvió hacer ruido en mi cabeza.
Hello friends! Today I took a moment to reflect a little on a topic that had come to my mind some time ago and today it came back to make noise in my head.
Este pensamiento vino a mi, contemplando situaciones que me habían pasado en el transcurso de mi vida, durante mis estudios o incluso mientras me iba preparando en distintos ámbitos como persona y que de seguro a todos nos ha pasado en cierto punto de nuestras vidas.
This thought came to me, contemplating situations that had happened to me in the course of my life, during my studies or even while I was preparing myself in different areas as a person and that surely has happened to all of us at some point in our lives.
¿Alguna vez te has sentido mal por desconocer algún tema o menos inteligente por no tener ciertos conocimientos?
Have you ever felt bad for not knowing something or less intelligent for not having certain knowledge?
Este tipo de sentimientos pueden ser parte de nosotros cuando nos encontramos muchas veces en el ámbito académico o cuando conversamos con otras personas que nos deslumbra con sus conocimientos, pero déjame decirte un secreto a voces: ¡Todos somos ignorantes!
These types of feelings can be part of us when we find ourselves many times in academia or when we converse with other people who dazzle us with their knowledge, but let me tell you an open secret: We are all ignorant!
En la mayoría de los casos el que te llamen o llamar a alguien ignorante se toma como un insulto, porque así nos ha enseñado la sociedad. El tildar a alguien de ignorante es asociado con el denigrar a una persona, pero la verdad es que todos los somos.
In most cases being called ignorant or calling someone ignorant is taken as an insult, because that is how society has taught us. Calling someone ignorant is associated with denigrating a person, but the truth is that we all are.
Si estudiamos bien el término ignorante, hace referencia a desconocer algo y absolutamente todos desconocemos cierta información sobre algún tema, por lo que no debes sentirte avergonzado cuando te consideras ignorante sobre ciertas cosas, míralo desde el punto de vista, que es algo pendiente por aprender, algo nuevo por descubrir o conocer.
If we study well the term ignorant, it refers to not knowing something and absolutely all of us do not know certain information about some subject, so you should not feel ashamed when you consider yourself ignorant about certain things, look at it from the point of view that it is something pending to learn, something new to discover or know.
Tampoco utilices este término, con intenciones de ofender a alguien, por lo mismo de que tú también debes desconocer temas de ciertas áreas. Todos los días podemos aprender algo nuevo y aún así la vida no nos alcanzará para obtener todo el conocimiento existente en el planeta.
Do not use this term either, with the intention of offending someone, for the same reason that you must also be unfamiliar with certain areas. Every day we can learn something new and even so, life will not be enough to obtain all the existing knowledge on the planet.
Cuando admires a alguien por sus conocimientos, recuerda que en algún momento tuvo que pasar por ignorante en el tema para aprender y llegar a ser quien ahora es; y lejos de sentirte aludido procura inspirarte en sus pasos para llegar a tener el mismo dominio que esa persona.
When you admire someone for their knowledge, remember that at some point they had to be ignorant in the subject to learn and become who they are now; and far from feeling insulted, try to be inspired by their steps to reach the same mastery as that person.
No importa la edad todos podemos pasar por ignorantes, tanto jóvenes podemos necesitar o desconocer conocimientos que estén en el haber de los adultos, como viceversa, lo importante es tener la humildad y disposición de aprender los unos de los otros y eso es de grandes.
No matter the age, we can all be ignorant, both young people can need or not know knowledge that is in the possession of adults, and vice versa, the important thing is to have the humility and willingness to learn from each other and that is for adults.
El creernos ignorantes es un pensamiento que debemos saber dominar porque puede llegar a ser una limitante en nuestro progreso y que nos cohíbe de realizar o emprender cualquier decisión, por sentirnos insuficientes o incapaces.
Believing ourselves to be ignorant is a thought that we should know how to master because it can become a limiting factor in our progress, and it prevents us from making or undertaking any decision, because we feel insufficient or incapable.
Para ello me ha servido mucho el recordar frases como: ningún experto, nace siendo experto, o si me siento inexperto por compararme con otra persona digo: recuerda que para esa persona llegar a donde esta, tuvo que tener un inicio; y es que todo en la vida nace de un primer paso, y paso tras paso se logra llegar lejos.
For this I have found it very useful to remember phrases like: no expert is born an expert, or if I feel inexperienced by comparing myself with another person I say: remember that for that person to get to where he is, he had to have a beginning; and everything in life is born from a first step, and step after step you get far.
Por lo que debemos tener presente que siempre pasaremos por ignorantes en ciertos momentos de nuestra vida, lo que nos hará grandes es la disposición para aprender y la humildad de reconocer que nunca tendremos todo el conocimiento en nuestro poder.
So we must keep in mind that we will always pass for ignorant at certain moments of our lives, what will make us great is the willingness to learn and the humility to recognize that we will never have all the knowledge in our possession.
