Cuando camino por la arena siempre siento que es una caricia de la naturaleza al andar, y este lugar tan acogedor, donde se ve una lucha armónica entre un arroyo y el océano, o la inmensidad de unas dunas gigantes sobre la pradera, me hace reflexionar que la inmensidad, lo grande, lo fuerte, puede complementarse con lo opuesto. Este lugar es un balneario con un encanto especial, No hay electricidad corriente en las casas, la mayoría de ellas utilizan paneles solares para iluminarse.
When I walk on the sand I always feel that it is a caress of nature as I walk, and this very welcoming place, where you can see a harmonic struggle between a stream and the ocean, or the immensity of some giant dunes on the prairie, makes me reflect that the immensity, the great, the strong, can be complemented with the opposite. This place is a spa with a special charm. There is no electricity in the houses, most of them use solar panels to light up.

Uno pasa por un camino de arena, alrededor vas viendo todas esas casas y cabañitas que alquilan a los temporadistas. Sigues subiendo unas dunas pequeñas hasta que te encuentras con el océano Atlántico al frente, y a la derecha a lo lejos, una gran montaña de arena junto a un arroyo.
You go through a sandy road, around you you see all those houses and cabins that they rent to seasonal visitors. You continue climbing some small dunes until you find yourself with the Atlantic Ocean in front, and to the right in the distance, a large mountain of sand next to a stream.

Resulta que cuando el arroyo crece, hay que pasarlo en unos botes que cobran 50 pesos uruguayos,Las personas son muy atentas.
It turns out that when the stream is swollen you have to pass it in some boats that charge 50 Uruguayan pesos. People are very attentive.

Del otro lado del arroyo al ver hacia la duna grandota, me daba la sensación de estar en el desierto.
On the other side of the stream, looking at the big dune, it gave me the feeling of being in the desert.

Caminamos un rato hasta llegar a la cumbre de esta gran masa de arena, y desde arriba se podía apreciar la figura curveante de agua dulce del pequeño río que se pierde en la pradera.
We walked for a while until we reached the top of this great mass of sand, and from above we could see the curving figure of fresh water from the stream that disappears into the meadow.

Como no teníamos una tabla para lanzarnos, agarramos el protector de sol del parabrisas del auto y lo usamos para deslizarnos.
Since we didn't have a board to launch ourselves on, we grabbed the sun shield from the car's windshield and used it to slide down.

Fué divertido vivir esta experiencia en familia.
It was fun to live this experience as a family.

Al bajar teníamos que esperar al bote de regreso, mi hijo y mi esposo decidieron cruzar nadando, así que yo me fuí en la embarcación con la mochila.
When we got off we had to wait for the boat to return, my son and my husband decided to swim across, so I left on the boat with my backpack.

Como no me iba a quedar con las ganas de meterme en el agua, me quité la ropa y me lancé de un solo golpe, ya que tanto el arroyo de Valizas como el océano estaban helados. Al estar dentro se te pasa el frío y lo disfrutas; pero cuando salí, los dedos de las manos comenzaron a cambiar de color y los tenía dormidos, los sacudía con fuerza para que me circulara la sangre. Al rato me mejoraron y ya los sentía.
Not wanting to jump into the water, I stripped off my clothes and dove in with one fell swoop, since both the creek Valiza and the ocean were frozen. When you are inside, the cold passes and you enjoy it; but when I left, the fingers of my hands began to change color and they were numb, I shook them vigorously to circulate the blood. After a while they improved and I already felt them.

Después de eso nos regresamos al auto, nos cambiamos la ropa, comimos algo y seguimos el camino hacia otro destino!!!
After that we went back to the car, changed our clothes, ate something and continued on the road to another destination!!!
