Hello dear friends of Aliento, thank you all for the support and acceptance that Hive Translator has had. Without you the project would not have advanced so much, to the point that we will enter a new stage of development to turn this app into a Hive DAPP. That is, we will connect it directly to the blockchain and you will be able to publish from Hive Translator as you have been doing with Peakd or Ecency. Of course, this will be optional, you can continue copying the text and pasting it into your favorite DAPP as you have been doing so far.

But well, before reaching that stage of development, some changes are necessary and that is what I have been focusing on. Today I bring you two important updates.

New and improved preview

If you have used Hive Translator in the last 24 hours you will have noticed that now in the desktop version, the preview appears next to the editor and not below; while in the mobile version it remains below, just like PeakD does. In addition, in this new update the preview is no longer static, but it updates automatically as you make changes to the text. This offers greater freedom to the user and a better experience.

On the other hand, errors were fixed that confused the user because the preview sometimes did not match reality in Hive, although some persist, most were fixed and will continue to be fixed as they are detected.

English First

This is a functionality that the community has been asking for a lot, especially my dear friend, the leader of the Cuban community on Hive @manuphotos, although I have noticed that others like my friend @filoriologo also make use of this practice.

It is about prioritizing English (or the translation) above the source language. For this I have added a checkbox next to the Translate button, with the label "EN first". If you select this tag before selecting your markup format, the final result will swap the texts and where the text used to appear in the source language, now it will appear in English.

If, on the other hand, the user wants to prioritize his source language, he will only have to uncheck the checkbox and use the app as he has been doing so far.

What's next?

Very soon I will release a new update that integrates the Pixabay image library into Hive Translator. That is, you will be able to insert Pixabay images with their respective sources without having to access that web.

Hola queridísimos amigos de Aliento, gracias a todos por el apoyo y la aceptación que ha tenido Hive Translator. Sin ustedes el proyecto no habría avanzado tanto, al punto de que entraremos en una nueva etapa de desarrollo para convertir esta app en una DAPP de Hive. Es decir, lo conectarémos directamente a la blockchain y podrás publicar desde Hive Translator como lo vienes haciendo con Peakd o Ecency. Claro, esto será algo opcional, podrás seguir copiando el texto y pegándolo en tu DAPP favorita como has estado haciendo hasta ahora.

Pero bien, antes de llegar a esa etapa de desarrollo, son necesarios algunos cambios y en eso me he estado enfocando. Hoy les traigo dos actualizaciones importantes.

Nueva y mejorada vista previa

Si has usado Hive Translator en las últimas 24hrs te habrás dado cuenta de que ahora en la versión desktop, la vista previa aparece al lado del editor y no debajo; mientras que en la versión móvil se mantiene debajo, justo cómo lo hace PeakD. Además, en esta nueva actualización la vista previa ya no es estática, sino que se actualiza automáticamente mientras realizas cambios en el texto. Esto ofrece mayor libertad al usuario y una mejor experiencia.

Por otra parte, se arreglaron errores que confundían al usuario pues la vista previa en ocasiones no se adaptaba a la realidad en Hive, aunque persisten algunos, la mayoría fueron corregidos y seguirán siendo arreglados mientras se detecten.

Inglés Primero

Esta es una funcionalidad que la comunidad ha estado pidiendo mucho, en especial mi querido amigo, el líder de la comunidad cubana en Hive @manuphotos, aunque he notado que otros como el amigo @filoriologo también hace uso de esta práctica.

Se trata de priorizar el idioma inglés (o sea la traducción) por encima del idioma de origen. Para esto he agregado un checkbox al lado del botón de Traducir, con la etiqueta "EN first". Si seleccionas esta etiqueta antes de seleccionar tu formato de maquetado, el resultado final intercambiará los textos y dónde antes aparecía el texto en el idioma de origen, ahora aparecerá en inglés.

Si, por el contrario, el usuario quiere priorizar su idioma de origen, bastará con no marcar el checkbox y utilizar la app como lo ha estado haciendo hasta ahora.

¿Qué viene después?

Muy pronto lanzaré una nueva actualización que integra la biblioteca de imágenes de Pixabay en Hive Translator. Es decir, podrás insertar imágenes de Pixabay con sus respectivas fuentes sin tener que acceder a esa web.
