Hello Hive :D

in Aliento2 years ago

Hi everyone! My name is Janine Davis and I'm new to this social media app. I'm not sure what to expect but I'm excited to be here and make some new friends on the way.

I'm a young artist and model living in California (USA). In my free time, I love to go out with friends, explore new places, and try new things. I'm passionate about cooking, hiking, and traveling.

I'm looking forward to posting about my adventures, sharing my favorite recipes, and connecting with people from around the world. I'm always open to hearing new ideas and perspectives, so feel free to reach out if you have something to share or a question. :)

Thanks for having me!
Janine

Thank you 😂

Hello @janinedavis! This is @traciyork from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive and introduced yourself to the community - congratulations and welcome! You didn't mention how you happened to find our blockchain home - did an established Hive member tell you about it? If so, be sure to tag them so they know you're part of the Hive community now.

Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests. Here's a link so you can check them all out - Hive Communities

Also, as Hive can sometimes be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide should be helpful to you, as it is a growing repository of useful and easy to understand posts about how the Hive ecosystem works. For instance, there's a post in the collection called 3 things Newbies should do in their first week on Hive that you might find helpful.

Please be aware that Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog, so it is important not to include content that you don't own without sources (and it shouldn't exceed 50% of the post). For more information, check this post - Why and How People Abuse and Plagiarise by hivewatchers.

If you have questions, feel free to hop into the OCD Discord server and we'll do our best to answer them, and again welcome to Hive!

Hi janinedavis, so great to see a fellow traveler joining Hive! We've been around for over 3 years, building a community of travelers on Hive. I see that you are posting from ecency which is awesome, but the beauty of the Hive blockchain is that there are several websites available to use Hive!

TravelFeed.io brings together all the benefits of Hive decentralized blogging with features that you as a travel blogger will love: Photo galleries, Instagram embeds, custom maps, post scheduling and more. And if you want, you can even use our easy site builder to set up your own travel blog on your own domain which can be a great way to generate a passive income from your blog!

You can log in with your Hive account on TravelFeed.io to publish your next travel post, and it will be posted to Hive automatically! Every day, we select the best posts and reward them with an upvote and added visibility.

See you around!

Welcome to Hive, Janine :D

Looking forward to seeing more of your world 🌸

Welcome to the Hive community @janinedavis!
We sincerely hope you find everything you are looking for and have found a new home here.

Seven suggestions to consider:

  1. Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
  2. Use your active key only for wallet transactions, Keychain, Peaklock, and Hivesigner,
  3. The master password and the owner key are only used to reset compromised passwords,
  4. DO NOT lose your passwords; copy and store offline,
  5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit, and be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
  6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once , and
  7. DO NOT OPEN any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.

I found you because @brittandjosie and @jamerussell from @heyhaveyamet presented and promoted your publication to get more exposure and help you grow faster.

If you find yourself overwhelmed and need some guidance, or if you have any questions, there are informed Hiveans available who can help you; you can click to go to The Terminal in Discord here:

Have fun and happy Hiving!

Hello

Welcome to Hive 🙌 Please do check out all of the awesome communities on the subjects you are interested in :)

Also be sure to indicate when the photos are your own. And in the times where you can't use your own, always go for the ones that are free for commercial use, such as Pixabay, Unsplash, etc.

And last but certainly not least, I encourage you to use Dreemport to help get more readers for your Hive posts. Dreemport is a great way to meet more Hive members too :)

Welcome!

Keep up posting, it builds over time. I found Ecency a good way to earn yourself a few bonus points for interaction, especially as a small time creator myself. You collect points for interacting (liking, reblogging and commenting on posts and then you can boost your own (or others) posts with upvotes making it all the worthwhile.

You can try Ecency here

(For transparency this is a referral link which would earn me a few additional points)

Good luck!
