La mía es una historia musical

Hola, soy Antony Jimenez, tengo 36 años, vivo en Caracas, Venezuela. Estoy casado y tengo dos hijas. Soy músico, realizador audiovisual, y estoy creando mi legado musical al mundo.

Actualmente, participo en varios proyectos musicales; tales como , Yantra (bajo), Recipe Morado (baterista), Isla Taboo (baterista y Percusionista). en paralelo estoy grabando lo que será la primera producción discográfica para mi banda Frecuencia Sublime.

El sueño de ser músico viene marcado en mi desde la infancia. Era un niño privilegiado, mis padres siempre me regalaban instrumentos musicales, guitarra, cuatro, acordeón, maracas, tambores. Yo era amante del béisbol y de la música y ellos me apoyaban. Me brindaron la oportunidad de estudiar y participar en cada cosa que yo quisiera hacer.

La niñez y la adolescencia fué enfocada a aprender un poco de teclado, acordeón, teoría y solfeo. Experimenté que los cambios de armonía podían transmitir sentimientos. Estudié guitarra eléctrica en la antigua escuela Music Clips con Niel, integrante de la banda Grillo Rojo.

Cuándo tenía 16, estudiaba en Yaracuy; estaba en un internado adventista, dónde conocí a grandes personas. Entre esas, Kenneth Glod con el cuál, compartía gustos musicales y tiempo tocando música en los tiempos de recreación. El tocaba con su Guitarra acústica y yo con un cuaderno, una pandereta y un par de baquetas; imitando los sonidos y la posición de una batería. Entre amigos y a modo de broma, nos hacíamos llamar "Los Lipas Forever" de esa forma y sin querer, nació el primer ensamble musical en el que participé. Era algo bastante endógeno o artesanal, pero fue brutal. En la escuela todos nos querían.

A los 17, formé mi primera banda se llamó Anorexia, junto a Israel Barranco y David Díaz. Fué mi primera experiencia de integración a una banda real. Escribimos nuestra primera canción "Killing Myself" en casa de David y la montamos en formato acústico, imitando lo que venía haciendo en Yaracuy con los cuadernos. De esa manera montamos 4 canciones y participamos en un Festival de bandas locales. No ganamos, pero fue la primera vez que yo me montaba en una batería real y la primera vez que se hacía un registro en audio dónde yo salía tocando.

Un tiempo después y por falta de instrumentos cambiamos de bajista, entró Giulio Flores a la banda. Con él, teníamos una batería con cueros rotos, amplificadores pequeños y nuestra rebeldía que, dieron vida a 5 canciones. Nos dirigimos a un estudio de grabación llamado Silver Avenue Récords y los convertimos en un álbum de 5 canciones y un demo llamado The Six Sabes Portal, material que, nunca sacamos por no tener experiencia en el área de marketing cabe destacar que, dicho álbum está escondido y voy a compartir acá en su momento.

Unos años más adelante, me integré a un grupo de música cristiana, la cual se llamaba Los samaritanos. Con ellos obtuve la experiencia de enfrentarme a un público diferente cada semana, de grabar un álbum en vivo. Aprendí a utilizar una cámara de vídeo, a editar audio y vídeo y a producir el programa del padre Vicente llamado "Minutos de sanación" en TV familia.

En paralelo, estudiaba música en la escuela Benito Canónico de Guarenas, estado Miranda. Ahí, estudié guitarra popular, batería, teoría y solfeo, reforcé guitarra eléctrica y obtenía experiencia tocando con otros músicos.

Comencé a trabajar en la escuela dando clases, hasta que una mañana, conocí a Gilberto Bocaranda y Freddy Guzmán, los cuales me invitaron a formar parte de su banda, llamada "Visiones" la cuál, era una enciclopedia musical; tocaban un concepto de versiones Pop, Rock, Blues y Jazz Standar de los años 50, 60, 70 y 80. Ahí, logre dominar diferentes géneros y estilos musicales.

Rápidamente la banda visiones cambió de nombre a Aldebarán Regulus y sumó músicos. Entró Fernando Domínguez (De Karmapa) en el bajo, Rafael Contreras (Grupo Fósil) en el teclado, Se mantuvieron Gilberto y Freddy al frente con sus guitarras. Yo era el Baterista y a pesar de ser una banda de covers, me sorprendía que nos saliera trabajo constante. Cabe destacar que, con ellos aprendí a cobrar por cada show que brindábamos.

En el año 2012, comencé a formar parte de la agrupación Yantra. Recién había salido de la agrupación de los Samaritanos. Me compré un bajo eléctrico y comenzó la travesía de conocer este instrumento y adaptarme a lo que buscaba la banda. En ese proceso de aprendizaje, montamos 12 temas y nos encaminamos a grabar un EP en vivo en un estudio de la zona.

Del EP logramos salvar 9 canciones, las cuál fueron la base para comenzar a enseñar lo que hacíamos. Yo comencé a grabar y editar videos de los ensayos. Inicié un programa tipo vídeo podcast llamado Grunge TV, dónde presentaba bandas de todo el mundo, añadía los vídeos que hacía de mi banda y colocaba videos graciosos. Así ganaba seguidores y daba a conocer a mi banda. Con el paso de los años, comenzamos a hacer un tributo a Nirvana, el cual nos catapultó a tocar en todo el país y a ser conocidos en la movida.

La misma carrera musical me ha obligado a aprender distintas áreas. A lo largo de la carrera, por ejemplo, he tenido que aprender a diseñar y crear mis propios flyer o animaciones. Cuando eres independiente y no tienes apoyo económico, te toca hacerlo con tus propias manos.

Durante estos años, he aprendido a hacer diseño gráfico, publicidad, y a realizar audiovisuales en pro de mostrar el don que he venido cultivando.

Estudié en la escuela de cine y televisión, con la intención de aprender a exponer visualmente lo que hago con la música. La música, el cine y creo que las artes en general, se basan en eso en poder expresar una idea o mensaje.

He trabajado con personas buenas que me han ayudado a crecer artísticamente y me he topado con gente que se ha burlado e incluso me han robado proyectos. En algún momento, he sentido la necesidad de detenerme y no seguir en el medio ya que, no veía frutos o recompensa a pesar de tanto trabajo.

Cuando eres músico y decides dedicarte a esto, debes convertirte en muchas cosas para no morir en el intento. Debes ser el motor de motivación, debes aprender a diseñar y crear audio, vídeo, fotografía, montaje, composición, arreglista, debes ser tu manager, tu publicista, productor musical, debes aprender a distribuir, a difundir y un sin fin de actividades que te ayudan a alcanzar la meta, hacer que tú música llegué a la gente.

Me encuentro trabajando en mi proyecto personal, el cuál se llama Frecuencia Sublime. El nombre significa, estar en armonía con el romanticismo de la vida.

El nombre está basado en la idea de que "Frecuencia" significa Repetición, así como las experiencias en la vida, que te hacen más conciente y fuerte. y "Sublime" que tiene que ver con la belleza que existe en cada momento de aprendizaje (Sea bueno, o malo, triste o alegre)

Está agrupación la vengo desarrollando como mi tesis personal en el ámbito profesional. Actualmente me encuentro grabando el primer disco oficial, dónde aplico toda la experiencia recaudada hasta el día de hoy.

En mis letras hablo de mi vida, en la música logro transmitir mi sentir, podría llamarse un autoretrato biográfico, ya que son historias de la vida real.

La música en mi vida se ha vuelto una terapia, una curita para las heridas, un dosis de alegría y conexión, una nave espacial que me lleva a otros mundos, una forma de comunicación, un empleo, una bendición, un don y una válvula de presión, es la musa que me mantiene conectado a alineado con el universo. Es mi parte de mi propósito en la vida, llegar a las personas y guiarlas a la libertad.

Se que suena raro, pero el mundo debe quitarse las etiquetas y comenzar a evolucionar su ser. cada uno atraviesa problemas y debe pelear guerras infinitas para poder superarlas.

Para alcanzar mi sueño he sacrificado muchas cosas, tiempo y personas, he sido tildado de loco, he sido criticado, burlado, me han estafado, engañado, he estado al borde de la muerte, conocí diferentes religiones, he perdido familiares amados, fui malo, fui bueno y fui señalado.

La vida; a pesar de mis logros, se ha encargado de enseñarme algo que yo llamo, la carrera de los obstáculos, resistencia y constancia. El secreto es, mantenerse enfocado en lo que tanto anhelas y no dejarse intimidar por el grado de dificultad que tenga entre, el punto de partida y la meta

Hoy me sumo a la de HIVE con la esperanza de contar con personas cultas que aprecien el arte que vengo realizando y continuaré sumando logros con ustedes.

Estaré compartiendo con ustedes mucho material audiovisual que he acumulando en mi carrera, así como el proceso de producción y grabación de mi primera producción discográfica independiente, en dónde espero su apoyo y simpatía, Frecuencia Sublime.

Hello, I am Antony Jimenez, I'm 36 years old, I live in Caracas, Venezuela. I'm married and I have two daughters. I am a musician, audiovisual producer, and I am creating my musical legacy for the world.

Mi familia

Currently, I participate in several musical projects; such as Yantra (bass), Recipe Morado (drummer), Isla Taboo (drummer and percussionist). In parallel, I am recording what will be the first album for my band Frecuencia Sublime.

The dream of being a musician has been marked in me since childhood. I was a privileged child, my parents always gave me musical instruments, guitar, cuatro, accordion, maracas, drums. I was a baseball and music lover and they supported me. They gave me the opportunity to study and participate in everything I wanted to do.

Childhood and adolescence were focused on learning a little bit of keyboard, accordion theory, and solfeggio. I experienced the changes in harmony could transmit feelings. I studied electric guitar at the old Music Clips school with Miel, a member of the band Grillo Rojo.

When I was 16, I was studying in Yaracuy; I was in an Adventist boarding school, where I met great people. Among them, was Kenneth Glod with whom I shared musical tastes and time playing music during recreation time. He played with his acoustic guitar and I played with a notebook, a tambourine, and a pair of drumsticks; imitating the sounds and position of a drum set. Among friends and as a joke, we called ourselves "Los Lipas Forever" in that way, and unintentionally, the first musical ensemble in which I participated was born. It was something quite endogenous or handmade, but it was brutal. Everyone at school loved us.

At 17, I formed my first band called Anorexia, with Israel Barranco and David Diaz. It was my first experience integrating into a real band. We wrote our first song "Killing Myself" at David's house and we did it in an acoustic format, imitating what I was doing in Yaracuy with the notebooks. That's how we did 4 songs and we participated in a local band festival. We didn't win, but it was the first time I played on a real drum kit and the first time an audio recording was made where I was playing.

Sometime later and due to lack of instruments we changed bass player, Giulio Flores joined the band. With him, we had a drum kit with broken leather, small amps, and our rebelliousness that gave life to 5 songs. We went to a recording studio called Silver Avenue Records and turned them into an album of 5 songs and a demo called The Six Sabes Portal, material that we never released because we had no experience in the marketing area. It is worth mentioning that this album is hidden and I will share it here in due time.

A few years later, I joined a Christian music group called Los Samaritanos. With them, I got the experience of facing a different audience every week, of recording a live album. I learned how to use a video camera, edit audio and video, and produce Father Vicente's program called "Minutes of Healing".

At the same time, I studied music at the Benito Canonico school in Guarenas, Miranda state. There, I studied popular guitar, drums, theory, and solfeggio, reinforced electric guitar, and gained experience playing with other musicians.

I started working at the school teaching, until one morning, I met Gilberto Bocaranda and Freddy Guzman, who invited me to join their band, called "Visiones" which was a musical encyclopedia; they played a concept of Pop, Rock, Blues, and Jazz Standard versions of the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. There, I managed to master different genres and musical styles.

Quickly the band visions changed its name to Aldebarán Regulus and added musicians. Fernando Dominguez (From Karmapa) came in on bass, Rafael Contreras (Grupo Fósil) on keyboards, Gilberto and Freddy remained in front with their guitars. I was the drummer and despite being a cover band, I was surprised that we got constant work. It is worth mentioning that with them I learned to charge for each show we played.

In 2012, I joined the Yantra group. I had just left the Samaritanos band. I bought an electric bass and began the journey of getting to know this instrument and adapting to what the band was looking for. In this learning process, we put together 12 songs and we set out to record a live EP in a local studio.

From the EP we managed to save 9 songs, which were the basis to start teaching what we were doing. I started recording and editing videos of the rehearsals. I started a video podcast-type program called Grunge TV, where I featured bands from all over the world, added the videos I made of my band, and posted funny videos. That's how I gained a following and got the word out about my band. Over the years, we started doing a tribute to Nirvana, which catapulted us to play all over the country and become known in the scene.

The same musical career has forced me to learn different areas. Throughout my career, for example, I have had to learn to design and create my own flyers and animations. When you are independent and have no financial support, you have to do it with your own hands.

During these years, I have learned to do graphic design, advertising, and audiovisuals in order to show the gift that I have been cultivating.

I studied at film and television school, with the intention of learning to visually expose what I do with music. Music, film, and I think the arts in general, are based on being able to express an idea or message.

I have worked with good people who have helped me grow artistically and I have come across people who have made fun of me and have even stolen projects from me. At some point, I have felt the need to stop and not continue in the medium because I did not see fruits or rewards despite so much work.

When you are a musician and you decide to dedicate yourself to this, you must become many things to die trying. You must be the engine of motivation, you must learn to design and create audio, video, photography, editing, composition, arranger, you must be your manager, your publicist, music producer, you must learn to distribute, to disseminate and an endless number of activities that help you achieve the goal, make your music reach people.

I am working on my personal project, which is called Frecuencia Sublime. The name means, to be in harmony with the romanticism of life.

The name is based on the idea that "Frequency" means repetition, as well as the experiences in life that make you more conscious and strong, and "Sublime" has to do with the beauty that exists in every moment of learning (whether good or bad, sad or happy).

I have been developing this grouping as my personal thesis in the professional field. I am currently recording my first official album, where I apply all the experience I have gathered so far.

In my lyrics I talk about my life, in the music I manage to transmit my feelings, it could be called a biographical self-portrait since they are stories of real life.

Music is my life has become a therapy, a band-aid for wounds, a dose of joy and connection, a spaceship that takes me to other worlds, a form of communication, a job, a blessing, a gift, and a pressure valve, it's the muse that keeps me connected and aligned with the universe. It is my part of my purpose in life, to reach out to people and lead them to freedom.

I know it sounds strange, but the world must take off the labels and begin to evolve its being. everyone goes through problems and must fight endless wars to overcome them.

To achieve my dream I have sacrificed many things, time, and people, I have been called crazy, I have been criticized, mocked, have been swindled, cheated, I have been on the verge of death, I have known different religions, I have lost beloved family members, I was bad, I was good and I was pointed out.
Life; in spite of my achievements, has taught me something that I call, the obstacle course, endurance, and constancy. The secret is to stay focused on what you long for and not be intimidated by the degree of difficulty between the starting point and the finish line.

Today I join HIVE with the hope of having educated people who appreciate the art that I have been doing and I will continue to add achievements with you.

I will be sharing with you a lot of audiovisual material that I have accumulated in my career, as well as the production and recording process of my first independent record production, where I hope for your support and sympathy, Frecuencia Sublime.
