Experienced Blogger But Newbie on Hive

Hi, my name is Ed Umbao a seasoned blogger with more than a decade of experience, published closed to 20,000 articles online, my works were cited by Wikipedia but in terms of cryptocurrency I am a newbie particularly in these Hive Blockchain ecosystem.

Aside from writing online with my various self-hosted blogs for the past decade, I successfully managed social media accounts of the company I once co-founded. Currently, I work as a community organizer, but I have plans to returned to my previous online venture after three years of hiatus due to my engagement with the community in person.

I am here, once again to add value to the growing community of Hive believers, the Web3.0 revolution and the decentralized world. I would love to help everyone of us to grow exponentially, increase the brand awareness of the Hive blockchain and it's ecosystem, and improved overall communications both online and offline activities.

Although I first wrote my introduction article last April 21, 2019 when Hive was still part of the Steem blockchain and steemit community, a close friend of mine, @chrisrice introduced me to the platform. This humble American guy who now resides in the Philippines even paid for my domain a few years ago.

Chris Rice and the D.Buzz team, have been so helpful with me from the very beginning, he introduced to me the world of cryptocurrency and Web 3.0. D.Buzz is a decentralized alternative to social media built on top of the Hive Blockchain.

As a seasoned blogger with more than a decade of writing experience I wrote close to 12,000 articles for PhilNews.ph, a leading news outlet in the Philippines but parted ways with my co-founders due to some reasons, I will not elaborate further. Aside from PhilNews.ph, the company I co-founded, we have other self-hosted websites and managed various social media accounts with a combined millions of followers across all platforms.

Aside from the self-hosted blog I managed, I am also the blogger behind PhilNews.xyz, a political blog which saw it's peak during the 2016 national election in the Philippines and during the time when everything that has a Duterte supporter keyword in it would always so traction on social media.

The popularity of the Duterte presidency faded away a few years after his election , particularly during the time when fact-checkers was introduced in the Philippines, censoring everything that has Duterte keyword in it.

Due to the proliferation of censoring activities on social media and the rampant control of the big boys in Technology where freedom is indeed elusive for ordinary users and bloggers like us, I felt the introduction of the Hive community and Web 3.0 will surely helped us to renew our interests in taking back the freedom that was taken away from us.

Decentralization for me is very important because of my experience with the site I managed, although I realized this earlier but due to some opportunity to worked offline as a community organizer, I just grabbed the opportunity.

With the recent changes in my day job and the development of new technology, I decided to venture once again with the online world, and I am looking forward to impart my knowledge as a seasoned blogger in the thriving community of Hive believers.

Before venturing into the blogging world, I worked as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, worked as a machine operator in a plastic factory, climbed to the ranks and resigned as a Supervisor.

Earning a living online through blogging was indeed great because of the fact that whatever I earned as an OFW, I could also earned as a blogger, so there's no need for us to worked abroad, leave our family behind because working online is indeed fulfilling.

This is just my introduction or what I could say as a re-introduction to the Hive Community. I am looking forward to learn more from the community. Thank you for the opportunity of sharing my experience.
