I'm a cockroach - I like to live in the cracks

in Introduce Yourselflast year (edited)

Here's me peeking over the edge into Hive Ecosystem. Thanks to my friend @bobinson. Let me count three ways I am a cockroach, apart form the fact that I love to live in the cracks of human society and live on the refuse people throw away.

  1. I love the dark more than the light: Personally, philosophically and in many ways I buck the trend. I remember reading a book called "If you meet the buddha on the road, kill him" (Sheldon Kopp). I was born into a family of Practising Christians in a country where 98% people believe in other religions. I grew up to question much of the stuff I have learnt. So today my faith is a mishmash of so many different religions. Yet I am happy being neither this or that (which is the same as saying I am That - for those who understand Indian Philosophy).
  2. I am not a Psychologist: Yeah I have been a student all my life, and I have a PhD - from the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences! Where I studied not just How we become what we are. But also how we know who we are (epistemology). I love exploring so many fields, that I cannot identify with any particular field
  3. I do not know who my audience is: I keep thinking there must be people who want to talk to people like me. But I do not have a defined Target Demographics. Most of my friends would say I my writing is too complicated when I write from my heart without an audience in mind. But most people have no problems understanding me one to one.

That's just 3. I can think of may more. Even the idea of the cockroach is not mine. I stole it from Kafka. Do we have any idea that is not stolen? Don't ideas have a life of their own, independent of whoever holds them temporarily?

Hello Mr Cockroach.... I mean, @mathaifenn! This is @traciyork from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive and introduced yourself to the community - congratulations and welcome!

Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests. Here's a link so you can check them all out - Hive Communities. Based on what you've shared, I think you might find these interesting to check out -

The Man Cave Project - great group of men (and some women) with many, varied interest

Scholar and Scribe - very supportive writing community

Also, as Hive can sometimes be quite confusing, the Newbies Guide should be helpful to you, as it is a growing repository of useful and easy to understand posts about how the Hive ecosystem works. For instance, there's a post in the collection called 3 things Newbies should do in their first week on Hive that you might find helpful.

Please be aware that Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog, so it is important not to include content that you don't own without sources (and it shouldn't exceed 50% of the post). For more information, check this post - Why and How People Abuse and Plagiarise by hivewatchers.

I'm sure @bobinson will continue to help you as you begin your Hive journey, but if you have any questions, feel free to hop into the OCD Discord server and we'll do our best to answer them, and again welcome to Hive!

Welcome :-)
