The Saving Skill Ever Helpful.

Happy New Year Everyone, I Pray 2026 Favours Us Greatly.

One skill I know I have truly developed over time is saving critically, It didn’t come because I suddenly started earning big money or had extra cash lying around, in fact, it came from the exact opposite place not earning much and still having responsibilities staring at me every single day.

When you don’t earn much, you learn very quickly that money has to stretch, there’s no room for careless spending or I will sort it out later, Later might never come, at first, saving felt impossible, How do you save when what comes in barely covers what goes out? But somehow, life has a way of teaching you things when you don’t have options, I didn’t sit down one day and say, I am going to master saving, It happened slowly, out of necessity.

I started by paying attention, small things, how much I spent on unnecessary snacks, how often I bought things just because I felt stressed, how I kept saying yes to things I could not afford because I didn’t want to feel left out, that awareness alone changed a lot, I began to realize that saving is not always about having plenty, it is about control.

Saving critically taught me discipline. I learned how to separate needs from wants , not everything that looks urgent actually is, I also learned patience, there are things I still want badly, but I have trained myself to wait , to ask myself, “Do I really need this now, or can it wait?” That question alone has saved me from a lot of regret countless times.

This skill has influenced my personality more than I expected, i am more calmer about money now, not rich or something, not comfortable, but just calmer, I don’t panic as much when unexpected expenses come up ,because I have learned to keep something aside, no matter how small, even if it is not much, it gives me confidence, It gives me breathing space.

Beyond being a student, saving has helped me think long term, I now plan ahead, especially when it comes to my kids, I think about school fees, food, emergencies, and future needs, it has made me more responsible and intentional with my decisions, I don’t just think about today anymore, i think about tomorrow too.

Another thing saving critically taught me is self respect, there is a quiet pride that comes with knowing you are trying your best with what you have, even when things are tight, I know I am not being reckless, and that matters to me.

I’m still learning, of course, saving is a continuous journey, especially when income is small, but I am proud of this skill because it came from growth, not comfort, it is helping me survive, plan, and slowly build stability, and for me, that is a very great win.

Seriously that's a strong one Treasure. Saving when your income barely covers your expenses to cater for yourself and children. That shows how strong you are and self determined
