Social amenities like electricity, water supply and cooking gas have made life so easy for our daily living. Not too long ago when we spent time sourcing firewood for cooking our meals, walking miles in order to get our daily water supply from streams and rivers. Passing information through writing letters and sending it to our loved ones. That was how life was when I was growing up. It was such a tedious time but we did great with the resources at our disposal.

And now, thanks to changes, I sit in the comfort of my home and all of these are readily available for me at my fingertip. These make my life easier and save me a lot of time and energy, however if they are suddenly not available I believe we human being will cope just fine, yes these amenities have make us get use to easy life but that doesn't mean that we have lost our resilient to find a new way to survive when time called for it.
In my current living arrangements how can I survive without electricity, water supply and cooking gas for a month?
I believe I will cope just fine, after all I have passed through such situations in the past, even though it won't be convenient for me. Here is how I will manage the situation.
No electricity? I have an alternative
To charge my phone, which is the one thing I can't do without , whether there is electricity or not. I have a tailor down my street. He is a very generous man. He uses solar energy at times like that and he usually helps with charging my phone whenever we have electricity issues in my area. Even though it won't be as convenient as plugging my phone on my socket just beside my bed, at least charging my phone at his place will help me connect to the Internet even if it's just for a limited time.
As For the water

My kind hearted next house neighbor has a well, and her well doesn't dry up until around March and April, so I will pray I don't have to experience lack of water supply in these two months, otherwise her well will serve me. Like I said this won't be as convenient as running water on my tap but at least it's an alternative.
What of Cooking gas
As for how I will cook? Well, my charcoal stove will come in handy in this regard. I have one at a corner of my kitchen just in case a need for it ever arises. I do not like the smoke it brings before the charcoal catches fire 🔥it makes me smell like smoked fish lol or having to wash a darkened pot after cooking but it's still a good alternative and even easier than cooking with firewood. Besides, I get to enjoy the special aroma that comes with meals cooked with charcoal fire.
You see, I will survive perfectly well, and for that one month I will just see it as a new experience of doing things instead of letting the lack of the things I am used to bother me. I might even document the experience and share it on the chain, who knows someone out there might be in the same boat as I am and might need a reminder that they are not alone. Life is not too hard, when one is willing to adjust, there is always a way to survive in any situation hehe.
Over to you, how will you cope for one month in the situation I talked about above? Let's talk, who knows someone might be learning one or two surviving skills from your experience.

Untill I can your way again, Hive on with swag😎 bye❣️😊
Ma'am this really got me thinking seriously. Life has truly changed and become easier, but reading this made me realize that we are still very capable of adapting when the need arises. We may be used to comfort now, but resilience has not left us. Even when things are not convenient, we always find a way to cope and keep going.
Nice piece
Yes, life has become easier in some ways, but if the need arises, we can still survive in difficult situations.
Thank you for stopping by.
Nice one, it's as simple as that. There is always a way in every situation.
Exactly 👍💯
I live in Cuba, so it's normal here not to have gas or electricity... What can I tell you? You have to experience it to understand.
Hugs!
That is a tough thing to experience, but not so different from some parts of Nigeria as well.
I imagine... Unfortunately...
You see this water issues ehhn, here I have limited alternatives I always pray there's no water issues o Because its not going to be easy
