This is me answering to a prompt in @hivestudentconnect

If I could ask for only one thing this Christmas, it wouldn’t be something I could wrap or hold. I would ask for the restoration of life and the memories of the loved ones I’ve lost along the way. Not just to see them again, but to feel their presence the way I once did—to hear their voices clearly in my mind, to remember their laughter without the ache, and to relive the moments that time slowly fades.
Loss changes you quietly. You keep moving forward, but parts of you stay behind with the people who meant everything. Christmas has a way of making that absence louder—because it’s a season built on togetherness, remembrance, and love. I don’t wish to rewrite life or escape reality; I just wish for the comfort of those memories to feel warm instead of heavy, and for the love I shared with them to feel alive again, not distant.
If I could have that one gift, it would be enough—to remind me where I come from, who shaped me, and why love, even when it hurts, is still worth holding onto. Some things are gone, but they are never truly lost as long as they live within us. That’s what I’d ask for this Christmas: the quiet restoration of love, life, and the memories that made me who I am.
