This is my entry on the topic : A skill or talent developed
The skill that truly changed my life is hairstyling. When I look back at my journey, I realize that this skill did not only teach me how to make hair, but it also shaped my confidence, creativity, and independence. Hairstyling became more than just something I could do with my hands; it became a part of who I am today.
My journey into hairstyling started from home.
I first learned by practicing on my mother’s hair. Watching her and using her head as my practice ground helped me understand the basics. Later on, while I was in secondary school, I learned more from one of my schoolmates who was also interested in making hair. I paid close attention, asked questions, and practiced whenever I had the chance. With time, I began to improve, even without attending any formal training. This made me realize that hairstyling was not just a skill I learned—it was a natural talent I discovered within myself.
As I continued to practice, I started making hair for other people apart from my mother and friends. People appreciated my work and encouraged me to keep going. That was when I understood the value of the talent I had. Hairstyling helped me earn money and support myself in little ways. It taught me the importance of patience, hard work, and consistency. Every hairstyle I made helped me grow better and more confident in my abilities.
In a way of summary ,hairstyling is the skill that changed me the most. It helped me discover my talent, build self-confidence, and learn how to be responsible and creative. Through hairstyling, I learned that talents can be discovered from simple beginnings and can grow into something meaningful if nurtured. This skill has played an important role in my life, and I believe it will continue to open doors for me in the future.
