RE: A Personal Journey Towards Aligning Thoughts, Words, and Actions for a Fulfilling Life

In 1 John Jesus says, “let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth”.

Our emotions are ephemeral. Just as this verse in the Gospel tells us to love with actions and truth, I had learned years ago that if you love in your actions, the feelings will come after. We are not commanded to feel warm and fuzzy towards our neighbor, therefore. Rather, we should look out for their well-being and dignity as we do our own. The jerk may not deserve it. But by that same measure, can we say that we deserve God's grace? This is what I get out of it.
