You must have been hearing of this thing we're doing that is called life. It's not easy. For many, it is as hard as it can be. Not everyone has the mental capacity to maneuver hardships in life as others can. And with the way things are going, with how hard some aspects of life are unfurling, more people are loosing the will to live. More people are falling into bouts of depression. More people are entertaining thoughts of how enticing the other side might be. This is a very disheartening reality.
Depression is not something that is outwardly expressed. The person sitting or standing next to you might be struggling with it. Oblivious to what is going on in his or her mind, you will have no idea. You might have no idea but there are little things you can do that'll definitely help uplift spirits. As little as they appear, they might be exactly what you (the giver) and them (the receivers) need.
The thoughtful daily post community prompt for the week asks:
A significant portion of the world's population is suffering from depression. What things do you feel are the most helpful to those people in fighting the blues?
I believe that depression is most times, as a result of loneliness. Having people around one doesn't all the time guarantee companionship. It is having someone or people that care, that does eradicate that feeling of being alone. It is having people to show you love and accepting the love those that care about you show you. By someone, it doesn't necessarily have to be someone else, it could as well be you. You can be the someone that loves you for who you are. The someone that loves you the way you deserve to be loved. Receiving love and care is necessary.
There's no one born with a heart of stone. A little act of goodwill, will penetrate even the toughest person's heart. You don't need to have too much to uplift someone's spirit. Something as little as a compliment can go a long way. Just a sentence telling something fascinating about someone might be exactly what that person needed at that time of his or her life. A hug, a smile plastered on your face as you give someone a compliment is one of the sweetest things ever. A thoughtful word to someone, a simple act of kindness, does a lot.
And for you, that thinks that you're not worth anything, that you're not deserving of every good thing, that you're way behind where people your age are supposed to be, that you can never be as smart as that person you admire is, BREATHE.
You are not them.
You are you.
You can never be like them.
So, anytime life comes at you, anytime you begin to question yourself if you can ever be as amazing as the person you admire, when the reality of life starts to hurt, breathe.
Breathe.
Tell yourself that there's no way you can be like others. And that's because you are you. You are not them.
A grown man, a grown woman, a young boy, a young girl, a little boy, a little girl, everybody's way of handling depression is different but in all, be kind to yourself, let go of your guilt. Indulge yourself in things that make you happy as you navigate through these hardships.
You are doing beautifully.

Depression. There's a lot of things that trigger it and a lot at stake when it happens.
And yeah, I do concur with this;
When you are with someone who understands your silence, your laughs, and all, you feel loved and wanted.
It's a very serious issue that shouldn't be overlooked.

Everyday people claim to be tough and end up being unnecessarily aggressive in public. Rather, random and little acts of kindness can help change someone's mind especially one that is contemplating giving up totally.
It sure can. There's no beauty in being unnecessarily aggressive. It isn't cool or anything
