GOOD TIES AND GREAT ADVENTURES: FIRST LONG TRIP SINCE PANDEMIC

My girl friends are always fond of celebrating our birthdays together. We see it a point to spend time or get together in all our birthdays as long as we can. However, since the pandemic hit and lockdowns in all cities and municipalities were implemented, we missed several birthday celebrations together. From February to August celebrants, we had our fair share of spending our quarantine birthdays separately.

Lucky for the September celebrant, our friend is redeemed from the "quarantine celebration" last year. (lol). How fast time flies! I cant believe this was a year ago.

For her birthday, we wanted to find a new sight to see and go to the beach, so we decided to go out of town. One of our friends had a house located at Sogod, Cebu. Sogod is at the northern part of Cebu by the way, a 2-3 hours travel from our hometown.

We got ready at 5:00am. Call time was 6:00am so we could get there around 8:00 or 9:00 in the morning. But we arrived at the municipality around 10:00am. Oh the in betweens, we were the craziest upon our meet up and as we were travelling.

We had our first stop in their municipal church and lighted a candle.

We headed straight to the house to cook our lunch, and to prepare a little set up for our little party.

We cooked grilled fish and pork and buttered shrimps. We had cake and donuts served too. A little bit of glam up for an elegant effect and we're all ready to munch.

All is set and sat down for our lunch. Oh we had a lot of catching up there! I got to say these are the people behind my sanity when I lost my mind even after I thought I would just be okay during this season of masks and quarantine.

We had the entire afternoon sharing and sobbing and laughing with all the updates happening in our lives before and during the pandemic that we forgot we planned on going to the beach. It's always different to be able to talk and express in person. It leaves you a bit more lighter and fresher feeling. I feel so lucky everytime these people shares wisdom in whatever they go through in life. You grow through it as well.

It was already 5:00 in the afternoon when we noticed the time. So we hurried and cleaned up our mess. We had plans changed after the caretaker of the house suggested that we go to the nearby mountain instead. Unfortunately, it was still closed to the public.

But we rarely go out to places that's far like this so we did not want to waste a moment and time to enjoy the beautiful town. So we planned on checking in another site. We stopped by at a beach side were people just gather and chill just to standby every afternoon before we head back home. We stayed for a while for a fresh breath of air. Ofcourse, we took some obligatory groufie (group selfie) photos too.

After taking some fresh air, and as it gets darker, we decided to head back home.

Who else misses out on Jollibee during a long travel? Well, we don't! Since everybody got hungry after a few hours travel home, we went for a drive-thru and gobble all the foods up inside the car (the new norms).

One by one, we got home safe, thanks to our lady driver!❤️ It was another memorable day made with great friends that I know would last forever.

To some, what we had this day may just be short and boring but it really doesn't matter how small or grand the things you do with friends. Everything big or small will surely be all fun, meaningful and memorable, as long as you are with the right people.
