Good morning my thoughtful hivians. Welcome to my blog.
The percentage of the people fighting depression is really going crazy and it can be so challenging. But there are ways to fight it. I'm saying this from my own perspectives, because I experienced depression and it was not pleasant, I'll be sharing what helped. I hope someone sees this and fight it like I did too.
The first thing I did was to seek the help of a professional. I underrated therapist, I saw it as a waste of time, I just told myself that therapy only existed in movies that in general life it didn't work. It was even more annoying when everyone I met were talking about seeing a therapist. I tried it out and trust me thst was one of the beautiful and best decisions i made. I found a safe space, I didn't know I would be free with s stanger that way, I poured out my heart. If you feel still weird about seeing a therapist, it's best to take a step to talk to someone that eent through depression or is going through it. This helps make you not feel isolated.
Very important, try to exercise. Maintain your physical health, don't joke with it. Like I said exercise, eat and infact don't only eat, eat a good food and make it balanced. Avoid alcohol, stay far away from it as possible, it doesn't solve the problem but it makes it more. Also endeavor to sleep, I know when depressed it is hard to sleep but if you don't get sleep it worsens everything.
Spend more time with your family and friends and loved ones. Not the toxic one but those that are willing to give support and the very understanding ones, it takes who understands to be able to support.
Don't stay indoors, they are programs that need volunteers and helping hands, go out, volunteer to help and it will give you the chance to maybe meet new people and remove your thoughts from negative things. Or most preferably, engage in your hobbies, things you love to do and I'll suggest playing music because it helped me, it might be of help to someone out there. And drawing too or craft making.
Lastly , I'll say hold God tight. For me during my difficult time, I found comfort and peace especially when reading the bible. There was always a word for me in every place I read, I was able to peay and cry out my heart to God and I certainly felt relieved after doing it.
Getting out of depression or fighting it is a journey and it's takes time but our efforts too at the time matters.
Stay blessed
