Hello everyone.
I hope you had a great weekend.
"[And it is, indeed, a source of immense profit, for] godliness accompanied with contentment (that contentment which is a sense of inward sufficiency) is great and abundant gain." - 1 Timothy 6:6
Child of God...
Often times when you're not satisfied with what you have, greed and envy will definitely come along.
It's not bad to want something, but if you do at the expense of your relationship with God,moral principles or values that is Greed, when you covet what your neighbor has , when materialism begins to creep into your heart and starts to show in your actions that is Greed.
I wouldn't say envy is the worst because sin is sin but Envy comes in when you're resentful towards those that have what you don't,it makes you wish that person didn't have that thing at all , sometimes you start to belittle that person to feel better about yourself, It's so dangerous because of how subtly it creeps into your heart.
Guard your heart
Be content with what you have, it's okay to aim for more but if you're going to derail from the track and dip your hands in things that do not glorify God, let it go .
Be grateful for the things you've got.
Be content
Go ahead and celebrate that your neighbors wins ,yours will come.
Stop comparing yourself, focus on building yourself or what ever you have in your hands , Strive to become a better you without competing with someone else.
Ask God for grace to guard your heart.
Godliness with contentment is great gain.
