I really don't understand why people like so much to watch crashes in motorsport. But the truth is that they really like this. But if you are in that car which is in shunt, you would not enjoy that much like enjoying when watching this.
The good thing is that everything is finished very quickly, in a moment or few seconds. These days drivers have really good rollcages which protect you from serious injuries. People got killed in really bad accidents bit that's really rare these days.
After all, every job is dangerous in some way, or another. Here is a compilation of WRC1 crashes from this year. Please watch and learn... :)
