Frenchman Eric Camilli was called a new rally star in the global rally community and therefore he got a contact with M-Sport Ford in 2016. Although being with the team until 2019,he drove in top tier category of that time called WRC only for one season and after that he was constantly in Rally2 machinery.
From the start of 2024 he is with the Hyundai works team, although he drives in French Rally Championship but with some World Rally Championship outings, and one of them is Monte Carlo Rallye, which is his home event because he lives in Cannes and knows those roads very well.
Hyundai announced that they will improve tarmac version of their i20 Rally2 and Camilli is a good option to test the car with his knowledge, and especially as a tarmac specialist.
