Good evening to all the friends in this community.

I am writing here for the first time so I want to introduce myself to you.
My name is Anita I live in Ireland and I am a passionate macro photographer
Usually I am taking pictures of small insects but in last few days I`m experimenting with oil and water, phone and colorful backgrounds first pic is my favorite one.

After a few minutes of taking pictures I thought it would be interesting to add a dish detergent so I could see what effect I would get

Yeah smiley is amazing 🙈 I couldn't believe what I have mixed up

Maybe You should try to combine Siliconoil with water as well. I think the results could look amazing as well. I use it with acryl colour for an effekt that come close to your.

Oh.. I think I have some of it left. I use that for my acrylic paintings

😂😂😂 I use it as well for acrylic pouring. 😉

Cool set and always great to see a behind the scenes shot too :-)

Tnx. I would like to see somone else try it 😁 to what they will come up to.

Amazing images, thanks for sharing!

I've actually been doing a bit of research into this as I was hoping to try some of this oil/water photography next week. I've seen various different setups and your setup of a small glass on top of a phone is by far and away the most simple, will definitely give that a go!

what else do you think I could try to give an interesting effect

I'm not sure yet, I'll have a better idea when I try it. As a macro photographer I'm sure you are aware of Depth of Field, so would using a taller glass (pint glass etc) blur/soften the background more? Also when doing my 'research' I noticed lots of people recommending to use washing up liquid as well as oil... have you tried that?

other than that then just keep playing and experimenting... who knows what you'll see the next time you try this :-)

Few pics are with washing liquid.. Lool again. Pictures re in the post

...add a dish detergent

ah so I see, guess I was too busy admiring the pretty pictures to bother reading the text haha

😂🙈 Thank you. I'm glad you like it. I'll try with oil water and few drops of milk in the oil.
