En la casa donde vivo se acumula mucho, pero mucho polvo, por lo que, aunque limpiemos todo muy bien, siempre necesitamos sacar un día para hacer una limpieza mucho más profunda. Como la parte de la cocina tiene una puerta que da al patio, esta es la que más se ve afectada por el polvo, eso y mis cuatro pequeños gatitos que, la verdad, no contribuyen para nada a la limpieza del hogar.

​Entonces, aunque no lo hacemos una vez a la semana y a veces tampoco una vez al mes un día específico, la verdad es que sí nos esforzamos por sacar un día cuando los dos, tanto mi esposo como yo, tengamos tiempo disponible para poder mover los muebles de lugar y limpiar todo muy bien a profundidad y por todas partes, incluso las partes que ni los demás ni nosotros podemos ver.

The house where I live accumulates a lot of dust, so even though we clean everything thoroughly, we always need to set aside a day for a much deeper clean. Since the kitchen has a door that opens onto the patio, it is the area most affected by dust, along with my four little kittens, who, to be honest, do not contribute to the cleanliness of the house at all.

So, although we don't do it once a week, and sometimes not even once a month on a specific day, the truth is that we do try to set aside a day when both my husband and I have time available to move the furniture and clean everything thoroughly and everywhere, even the parts that neither we nor others can see.

​En la casa donde vivo hay bastantes cosas y eso dificulta un poco la limpieza de la cocina. Esta cocina tiene bastante espacio y tiene algunas cosas que, si fuera por mí, ya hubiese desechado, como una cocina enorme que ya no se usa como cocina, sino más como una especie de mesón, y una nevera que dejó de funcionar hace algún tiempo y no cumple ninguna función, simplemente está ahí ocupando espacio.

​Obviamente, esto hace que sea más complicado todavía limpiar y por eso es que requiero que mi esposo me acompañe en este proceso de limpieza profunda, porque hay varias cosas pesadas que mover de lugar. El poder hacerlo con ayuda hace que todo el trabajo tome menos tiempo y que ninguno de los dos se lastime o luego en la noche tenga dolor de espalda por haber cargado tanto peso solo.

There are quite a few things in the house where I live, which makes cleaning the kitchen a bit difficult. This kitchen has quite a lot of space and has some things that, if it were up to me, I would have already thrown away, such as a huge stove that is no longer used as a stove, but more as a kind of counter, and a refrigerator that stopped working some time ago and serves no purpose, it's just there taking up space.

Obviously, this makes cleaning even more complicated, which is why I need my husband to help me with this deep cleaning process, because there are several heavy things that need to be moved. Being able to do it with help means that the whole job takes less time and that neither of us gets hurt or ends up with back pain at night from carrying so much weight on our own.

​Lo que hacemos luego de mover los muebles es limpiar en el espacio que estaban ocupando. Por alguna razón, por más que uno limpie, debajo siempre hay un montón de cosas como tapitas y una mezcla de agua y polvo que en algún momento se secó y manchó un poco el suelo. Así que, para quitar todo esto, utilizamos un poco de jabón desengrasante y agua caliente, esto hace mucho más fácil el proceso para que no tengamos que pasar demasiadas horas restregando el suelo.

​Como hay tantas cosas en la cocina y después de pasar varias cosas a la sala ya no queda espacio, entonces lo que hacemos es limpiar pedazo por pedazo. Luego de agregar jabón, ahora con agua caliente y un poquito de vinagre, enjuagamos. El vinagre hace que sea mucho más fácil sacar el jabón, así que no tardamos tanto, y como es agua caliente, esta se seca superrápido. Al secar, pasamos lo que movimos a su sitio y ya está.

After moving the furniture, we clean the space it occupied. For some reason, no matter how much you clean, there are always lots of things underneath, such as bottle caps and a mixture of water and dust that dried up at some point and stained the floor a little. So, to remove all this, we use a little degreasing soap and hot water, which makes the process much easier so we don't have to spend too many hours scrubbing the floor.

Since there are so many things in the kitchen and after moving several things to the living room there is no space left, we clean piece by piece. After adding soap, now with hot water and a little vinegar, we rinse. The vinegar makes it much easier to remove the soap, so it doesn't take as long, and since it's hot water, it dries super fast. Once dry, we put everything back in its place and that's it.

​Este proceso es tardado y fastidioso pero a mí me encanta, principalmente por el resultado, todo se siente súper limpio y eso me da una paz que no imaginan. Tener la casa limpia es una cuestión emocional que se va adquiriendo con la edad y ya yo estoy en la edad en la que la limpieza me pone feliz y el desorden y la suciedad me ponen de mal humor y triste. Aunque eso de devolver los muebles a su sitio es tan fastidioso que siempre le pregunto a mi esposo ¿y si lo dejamos así?

This process is time-consuming and tedious, but I love it, mainly because of the result. Everything feels super clean, and that gives me a sense of peace that you can't imagine. Having a clean house is an emotional thing that you acquire with age, and I'm now at the age where cleanliness makes me happy and mess and dirt put me in a bad mood and make me sad. Although putting the furniture back in its place is so tedious that I always ask my husband, "What if we just leave it like this?"
