Luke 13:17 (NIV)
When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing.
No matter how your adversaries rise against you; no matter the pressure, no matter the strategy carved out to undo you; one thing permitted for them to go with is shame. They might have come out alright; but as the Lord lives, it is certain that they will go with shame. That problem has not come to stay. It has come; though it will disappear. Your life is not a dwelling place for any unfruitful work of darkness. The Lord inhabits you by His Holy Spirit resident in your human spirit. Darkness cannot survive where the Spirit of God dwells: “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which ye have of God, and ye are not on your own?” 1 Corinthians 6: 19.
Jesus; in our Scripture text; had just healed a woman who had suffered under the evil yoke of an awful infirmity for eighteen years. Since it was done on a Sabbath day, there were people who rose up against Him. Jesus did not keep silent; the devil does not understand the language of silence. Scriptures affirm that with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness, but with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. He spoke to silence the adversaries and they were all ashamed.

The Word of God for your situation, which you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth, is a weapon in your hands to set the enemy packing. With the Word in your mouth, you are ready to dress the enemy with the garment of shame. Speak the Word, keep at it; it doesn’t matter whether the situation is taking a turn for the worse. The Word being spoken is o assignment and it will not fail: “So mightily grew the Word of God and prevailed” Acts 19:20. You will prevail with the Word, because God stands by His Word to perform it. “After He had said these things, all His adversaries were ashamed”. You are the offspring of the Lord; your case cannot be different. Speak the Word; keep speaking it and your enemies shall without fail, embrace shame.
