There is no realm of God’s blessings in which we find ourselves that gives a license for careless living. There are some who take the blessings of God for granted. They feel they have become so blessed and favored to command the respect of God and to deserve to exclusion from punishment for wrong doing. Suffice you to know that God is no respecter of persons. “He that feareth God and worketh righteousness is accepted with Him” Acts 10:35.

God will not bend His Word for any. The judgments of the Lord are sure. As called and as blessed as Moses was; a little carelessness saw to his ban from the Promised Land. If God did not spare Moses, why should the God with whom there is no variableness spare you? The grace of being blessed teaches that we should live soberly and godly in this present world.

As blessed as Abram was; he was not excused from the righteous demands of God’s Word. He was to walk before God and seek for perfection. There is no two ways to it; every blessing you receive from God places a demand on you to walk closer with God. Since the God of all blessing is perfect, every blessing is meant to be a drive towards perfection.

When you make the blessings of God upon your life a reverse gear to drift away from the patterns and principles of God laid down for living, you constitute yourself a disappointment to heaven and it sets you on a race of regret.

The higher a man goes in his walk with God, the more careful he ought to be. The more he increases in the blessings of God, the more careful he should be. Learn to guard against being carried away by the blessings God gives. Let’s seek to be drawn closer to God with the blessings He gives and we shall increase in blessing and abide satisfied.
