I leave you peace, I give you my peace; I do not give it to you as the world gives it. Not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)
The peace that the world offers is completely different from the peace that comes from God.
Many times the world imposes its peace through wars, it seems somewhat contradictory, but it is a great reality. It has been believed that to subdue someone by force is the surest way to find peace in a certain place or region.
The Lord Jesus emphasizes that He does not give His peace as the world does.
When I received Christ in my heart, my life was full of anxiety, insecurity, fear and anguish. When I received Christ, something as powerful as a sedative neutralized all those negative emotions that I mentioned to you. The peace of God is something so real and so divine that there are no words and feelings to describe.
The peace of God generates a tranquility and a very deep stillness of our spirit and this leads us to maintain a confidence and a tranquility, that God is in full control of our lives.
The true Christian knows very well what I am talking about, because it is something so indescribable but so real, that it gives us strength and motivates us to keep waiting on God in the midst of storms.
The Lord Jesus spoke very clearly that this peace cannot be given by the world, because what the world offers is misery and pain. The peace that the world could give is transitory, but the peace of Christ is lasting and remains forever.
