WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?
The Gospel simply means good news. In this dying world, you need to proclaim the undying love of God to men.
Every believer has been called to the great commission; Go therefore and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). This is not a commission to pastors, apostles, and those who wear a suit and tie to preach on our pulpit, it is rather a commitment to every believer.
THE GREAT COMMISSION
Jesus commanded us to go and make, He didn't tell us to stay and sleep. Sharing the Gospel is a call to responsibility, we need to get ourselves ready, stand up, and say whatever the Lord commands (Jeremiah 1:7).
We have the supply of grace to call people to the obedience that comes from faith (Romans 1:5).
Acts 26:16-18 “But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me[KJV]”.
No one can catch a fish sitting in his house, you need to go out and fish.
WHY WE ARE NOT WINNING SOULS
The reason we are not winning souls is that we are not following. Jesus says “follow me and I will make you fishers of men(Matthew 4:19). If we are following, we'll keep fishing.
The message of the cross is not the message of condemnation but the message of love. Light bearers of the good news must have love and compassion when passing the message of salvation. You can't win the lost if you don't love them, you can only win a perishing soul when you have love and compassion.
THE PLACE OF LOVE
Beyond the words, let love be seen.
For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died(2Corinthians 5:14).
Proverbs 11:30 “The fruit of the [uncompromisingly] righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise captures human lives [for God, as a fisher of men—he gathers and receives them for eternity][AMP]”.
Souls are won through the foolishness of preaching the Gospel.
ACTION POINT
Go and make disciples by evangelizing. Start fishing!
PRAYER
I am the man in Christ sent with the great commission to preach the gospel. Men will come to the knowledge of Christ through me.
