Psalm 114
114 When Israel came out of Egypt,
Jacob's house of the foreign people,
2 Judah became her sanctuary,.
And Israel his lordship.
3 The sea saw it, and fled;
The Jordan turned back.
4 The mountains leaped like rams,
The hills like lambs.
5 What did you have, O sea, that you fled?
And you, oh Jordan, who turned back?
6 O mountains, why did you leap like rams,
And you hills like little lambs?
7 The earth trembles at the presence of the Lord,
In the presence of the God of Jacob,
8 Who changed the rock into a pool of water,
And the rock into a source of water.

The psalms are historical events expressed by the Hebrews in poetry and songs to express God's love, grace, favor, care, and faithfulness, and the New Testament apostles used references from the book of Psalms as texts to teach Christian doctrine.

In the same way, the psalms have been through the centuries a source of personal inspiration and spiritual strength because in the course of struggles with life's adversities we have felt frustrated and when we scrutinize the psalms we feel comforted and encouraged by the force. spirituality that they transmit to us.

For example, in this psalm the power of God can be interpreted liberating his people because this reference to Egypt gives its name to the group of psalms called "the Egyptian alleluia" and shows us that the faith of the Old Testament was based on specific historical events, not mythological facts as happened with other ancient religions because very briefly the psalmist describes the story of the exodus from Egypt, the crossing of the Red Sea and the Jordan River on a dry pass.

In this sense specifically in verse 4 "they jumped" refers to the shaking of Mount Sinai when the law was given to Moses since it shows that the earth trembles before the presence of God the only one who can change sources and change stories For likewise God through this psalm demonstrates that he is a God of miracles. He demonstrated it through the rock that produced water and to this day he continues to perform miracles and demonstrate his power.

God does not change he continues to perform miracles and continues to demonstrate his power and authority forever and ever, he is the one who changes the sources, the rocks and everything that subsists in heaven and on earth.
