Hello friends, I hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend. Today I want to tell you about this Saturday and how we celebrated my mom's birthday.
For starters I got up very early, as I went to work to do some extra hours. When I came back I gave my mom her birthday present, which she loved and we started decorating the living room with some balloons and a "Congratulations" sign but in Portuguese of course 😅. Then I went to get my nails done and loved the result.

My husband bought the birthday cake 🎂 and we put the little candles with my mom's age on it. It was a family celebration, my mom was very happy because it was her first birthday here in Brazil and also next to her two children, her little granddaughter and her mother. My aunt is in the United States but she was also present thanks to a video call.
My brother's wife's family was also there, as they are already part of our family, as well as other Cuban friends who live here and even some Brazilian friends. We ate pizzas, cold salad and cake and played dominoes. We had a great time really and my mom enjoyed it a lot, which I'm glad because she deserves it 🥰.

I think we are very lucky to be able to have such a nice family and friends to enjoy ourselves with and to be able to feel that our Cuban roots are still there. It is very good to have this small community of Cubans here in a country that is not ours, this way Cuba will always be part of us. Anyway, it was a good day and a very enjoyable and fun celebration.

Hola amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien y disfrutando de su fin de semana. Hoy les quiero contar sobre este sábado y cómo celebramos el cumpleaños de mi mamá.
Para empezar me levanté muy temprano, ya que fui a hacer unas horas extras en el trabajo. Al regresar le di a mi mamá su regalo de cumpleaños, el cual adoró y comenzamos a adornar la sala con algunos globos y un cartel de "Felicidades" pero en portugués claro 😅. Luego fui a pintarme las uñas y me encantó el resultado.

Mi esposo compró el pastel de cumpleaños 🎂 y le colocamos las velitas con la edad de mi mamá. Fue una celebración familiar, mi mamá estaba muy contenta porque fue su primer cumpleaños aquí en Brasil y además al lado de sus dos hijos, su pequeña nieta y su madre. Mi tía está en los Estados Unidos pero también estuvo presente gracias a una videollamada.
La familia de la esposa de mi hermano también estuvo, pues ya son parte de nuestra familia, además de otros amigos cubanos que viven aquí e incluso unos amigos brasileños. Comimos pizzas, ensalada fría y pastel y jugamos dominó. La pasamos muy bien en verdad y mi mamá disfrutó mucho, lo que me alegra pues ella se lo merece 🥰.

Creo que somos muy afortunados de poder tener una familia tan bonita y amigos con los cuales disfrutar y poder sentir que nuestras raíces cubanas aún están ahí. Es muy bueno tener esta pequeña comunidad de cubanos aquí en un país que no es el nuestro, de esta manera Cuba siempre será parte de nosotros. En fin, fue un buen día y una celebración muy amena y divertida.
