@itsmateo's biggest day of the year: Birthday celebration

Hello hive world! @penflecto is back again, how's you day? For today's blog I will share with you a special celebration that happened couple of days ago.

My gorgeous and handsome hivers please allow me to consume some of your time because I am about to share with you a special day of one of my closest friend @itsmateo, so have fun and enjoy reading.

A friend is not just an ordinary person who you have been with for a long period of time, it is someone who stayed by your side during your happiest and even in the midst of the darkest moments of your lives, someone who helped you numerous times when you are down on your knees, someone who lend his/her hands when you have no one to hold to.

Last week's Thursday, 18th day of January,9:00 in the evening, I was just spending my time on peakd, scrolling and reading random written works from different bloggers when suddenly a notification popped up on my screen, little did I know it was my friend @itsmateo announcing on our group chat that tomorrow is gonna be his birthday and he wants to spend his day with us(the boys),he also said that he wanted to celebrate his birthday in the sea so I became happy and excited because I finally have the opportunity to revisit and relax in the sea together with my friends or should I call them family, after reading the information I then put my phone away and went to sleep.

It is finally the 19th day of January and @itsmateo's biggest day of the year, I'm extremely excited to celebrate his birthday plus the weather is in good condition so it's gonna be super fun. We agreed to gather in our school and waited for the others to arrived, a couple of minutes later everyone is now present and its go time.

Before going to the place(sea) where we will celebrate his birthday we first went to the public market to purchase the foods and the things that we need, upon arriving in the market place I smelled the scent of fresh fishes some people called it an awful scent while I called it a scent of freshness, we roamed the market looking for useful things and consumable goods and we ended up purchasing 3 kilos of fishes, spices, seasonings and junk foods, afterwards, we then headed to our bikes and continued our travel.

While traveling, I took the opportunity to capture a lot of photos as much as I can, look at the photo that I have provided, look at the place, isn't nice and green? I assure you that place right there is a good spot for relaxation, unfortunately I wasn't able to take a good photo due to a really bad posture riding the @itsmateo's bike, but don't you worry, I will write a content in the future about life and realization and I will feature this place for you to see it clearly, anyway, let's continue.

After travelling for atleast an hour we finally arrived to our destination, the famous Bituon of the municipality of Tabogon, well, if you are wondering what is bituon, it is a Cebuano term for a star, that's what it means in English but I don't know why the place is called bituon but anyway let's not stress ourselves about that instead let's focus on the main topic, we payed 100 pesos ($1 and few cents) for the entrance fee it is supposed to be a 150 pesos but the owner gave a discount as a gift for @itsmateo, don't be shocked that is normal in the Philippines to give a gift to a stranger when it's his/her birthday it's just part of our culture.

After paying for the entrance fee, we then entered and proceed to the sea. Finally, I was able to hear the chilling sounds of the wave, the touch of the air, the peace of the sea and the therapy it gives, I froze for a moment and admire the scenery, nature really is amazing, I mean look at that place it's just amazing, it never fails to provide pleasure to everybody, oh how I wish to live in a house near the ocean.

We then prepared the things and foods that we need, I and the others did our part in order to make things quick.

For our lunch we only prepared two viands, the kinilaw and the sinugbang isda, I know some of you are confused once again, so I'll explain and elaborate what does those two means.

Fun Filipino fact

Kinilaw is a seafood dish in our country (Philippines) where we only add spices and seasonings and eat it raw, I know some of you find it disgusting but I bet you it's not.

Sinugbang isda simply means grilled fish in English.

The foods is now ready to be eaten, we then gathered and sing @itsmateo a happy birthday, we then thank the almighty God for the blessings that he has given to us, after that we then eat and satisfy ourselves, share laughter, talked about random things, swim around and enjoyed every seconds of the moment.

Speaking of swimming @tomilee and @tolitswritetime can't swim so we taught them how to, our method of teaching is kinda funny and dangerous, we encouraged them to jumped on a 10 feet deep water and said to them to not panic and trust us, first, they hesitate to jump but after a few minutes had past a loud splash was heard, it was the two of them who jumped, it was so cute to watch them trusting us, they learned how to swim in just a couple of hours.

The sun is now setting, and it's now time to go home, but the celebration does not end here because we went on a place to buy something that would make us happy.

It's Ice cream and iced coffee time

I would say ice cream is the best finishing in a birthday celebration, we stopped here for a moment to buy ourselves an ice cream and iced coffee which only cost us atleast $4 in total, very cheap and tasty. After finishing the ice cream it is now time to go home and the celebration will end here.

Realization

Let me tell you this, we went on a place to celebrate @itsmateo's birthday with only atleast a 1500 peso ($30), imagine there's six of us who celebrated his birthday but still we are satisfied and happy, we created a beautiful moment with only few dollars.

A celebration can still be fancy without a money, it's not about the money, it's about the people who you have been during that specific moment.

I realized that even if I only have a small amount of money in my pocket/wallet I can still be the happiest man in the world if I spend it in the way where I can be happy.

Like what everybody said money can purchase anything except happiness, a birthday without a luxurious celebration is still a birthday.
