Making Memories: Our Day at Guimaras Mountain Resort

While browsing through my gallery for pictures to share here on Hive, I came across some memories from our family outing back in 2022. It was the last family outing we had so far, and although we weren’t all together, nearly everyone was in the photos. Looking back at those moments fills me with nostalgia and reminds me of the laughter and joy we shared. It’s a bittersweet reminder of how important these gatherings are, and I can’t wait for our next adventure together!

It was one of my nieces' birthdays when we decided to go on an outing instead of a traditional celebration. We chose Guimaras Mountain Resort located in Piña-Daragan, Piña, Philippines. We rode in a tricycle while others took motorcycles. It was quite a fun experience, especially since we were almost squeezed inside the tricycle!

We didn’t bring much food since outside food isn’t allowed at the resort. We managed to sneak in just two containers of bijon and some chocolates! 😂 Anyway, we were really there to enjoy swimming, not to eat. We had already eaten at home before heading to the resort. The food there is quite pricey, so we only ordered a few dishes to share.

Its my first time going to this resort. I’m not really a fan of going out, like outings, birthday celebrations, or clubbing. You might say my life is a boring, but I genuinely enjoy the comfort of staying at home and embracing solitude.

But it wasn't a bad idea since the resort looks amazing! Although it has an older appearance, the beautiful scenery allows you to enjoy the serenity of nature alongside your family, friends, and loved ones. It’s the perfect setting for creating lasting memories together.

The entrance is also wonderful, featuring a large aquarium filled with fish. My son was absolutely amazed by it!

After we settled into our rented cottage, we immediately headed to the pool. The pool was fantastic, and what made it even better was the kiddie pool! While we didn’t spend much time in the larger pool, we had a great time splashing around in the kiddie pool since none of us are great swimmers. 😂 It was the perfect spot for fun and laughter together!

Typically, we’re not into outings and prefer the old-fashioned way of celebrating birthdays at home. However, this time we decided to go out and it turned out to be a wonderful choice. We were able to take lots of pictures and create unforgettable memories to look back on!

We also tried out the slide, and we had a blast together! The cheers as we took turns sliding down created such a joyful memory. It was a great way to bond and enjoy each other’s company, making our day at the pool even more memorable!

It was also overwhelming to see our parents enjoying themselves. Our father isn’t typically a fan of outings, but when he found out we were going to swim in a pool, he got excited. He prefers pools over the sea because he tends to feel itchy when swimming in saltwater. It was a wonderful sight to see them happily bonding together!

It was truly a fun experience! Although the resort isn’t very large, it’s a lovely spot to spend your vacation. If you’re looking to escape city life for a complete getaway or want to enjoy serenity and connect with nature, this place should definitely be on your bucket list!

I’m looking forward to another amazing time with my family soon! However, it may be challenging since we’re living in different places. Despite the distance, I believe that when we do come together, it will make our time even more special. I can’t wait to create more wonderful memories with everyone! @asiaymalay @lhes
