Chronicles of Friends: An Unexpectedly Festive Day

I thought this day would be just like the usual - unexpectedly, I was proven wrong. I was feeling lethargic when I woke up. I didn't want to do anything, but we had to go to the campus to celebrate the Christmas Party.

My section didn't plan anything, so going to school seemed futile. I felt that we'd die of boredom. Since I decided that I was going to school for the sake of marking my attendance, I also made up my mind to visit my assigned section. It was so I could formally bid goodbye to my mentor. Little did I know, I'll be in for a fun time!

After visiting, I went ahead to school. I met up with my classmates who were idling by - watching our juniors playing games.

Only a little was going on, and we were less energetic than usual (we think this activity is a waste of time). We were chattering amongst ourselves when we saw our professors outside.

He was with other teachers, inspecting the height of the Christmas outputs of our juniors; Snowman, bell, Christmas tree, and Belen.

We were watching him when we decided to join in the fun and talk to him. We spoke for several minutes when he jokingly suggested we should have a drink. We told him that we preferred food over drinking since we were starving. He reached into his pocket and handed us a ₱1,000 bill to satisfy our hunger.

Almost instantly, chaos erupted as we cheered and planned what to buy - lechon manok (roasted chicken), soft drinks, and pusô (hanging rice). We wanted to have a boodle fight even without the banana leaf.

While some of my classmates were out to buy the food, we also had an impromptu karaoke session. Off-key notes often rang out, which set off laughter amongst us.

Then hurray! My classmates finally arrived with the food.

The fun didn't stop there. We felt unsatisfied and decided to visit Boardwalk and check out Danao City's Christmas village. The Christmas village was mentioned here in Hive several times. However, I was still enamored by the magical decorations and vibrant lights. My classmates shared the same sentiments; we couldn't resist snapping pictures of every attraction. We checked out every corner - the light tunnels, candy houses, the giant Christmas tree, and more. While doing so, our voices were loud, and we were doing our idiotic antics!

When we discovered a spot with changing lights - something akin to disco lights, we took Tiktok videos of HSKT, Wait, and the Korean dance trend! We weren't at all synchronized, even with our countless practices, but we had happiness drawn to our faces.

We did TikTok for fun, but some classmates were pressured to avoid making mistakes. I especially took notice of @brandonwrites (since he was beside me), and he was also the only Disney princess that night. He was careful not to make the wrong moves since he was alone doing the moves in HSKT, so he'd be really noticeable.

Before we parted ways, some of them bought food (which was shared with all of us, hehe). The TikTok dances thoroughly consumed our energies.

I went home feeling grateful and contented - it was a day well spent. My classmates and I received an unexpected gift. Not only that, we had added joyful memories that made our bond stronger. We spent the day with our faces stretched with smiles and boisterous laughter.

Sometimes, the best days aren't planned. They are made out of unexpected moments. Life is indeed full of beautiful surprises.
